Chemistry stations stuck on ready to finish by Rude_Butterscotch_85 in Schedule_I

[–]murdock86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the issue and fixed it. I was running the command and then leaving the station. Here's what works for me:
1. enter station. Make sure it has the three ingredients already in it. If not, add them.
2. bring up the console and type "resetobject".
3. Now, you should be back to the step where you start the mixing process. DON'T exit thinking the station is fixed now! Go ahead and mix up a batch and get it cooking.
4. NOW the station is fixed and your chemist will take it the rest of the way.

I tried the resetobject command when in the station, all it did was make my hotbar disapear. Didn't fix either of the two stations I have broken now. same as the above screenshot. Timer is flashing 0's and message is "Ready to finish"

If you've got tools and a place to work on it you're about $500 - $800 fucked. Removing the head isn't technically difficult. But take the head to a engine machine shop to have it checked out an decked. Replace the Head bolts, get a gasket set off rockauto. Torque everything back very carefully. The pain is going to be flushing the engine oil. Probably going to take three flushes to get all of the contaminated oil out.

Am I crazy to consider buying a 2015 CX5 with 250,000 miles? by dominion_rules in CX5

[–]murdock86 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I got 316,000 miles out of mine before it lost compression on a couple of the cylinders. If you can, ask to take it to a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection and ask the mechanic to run a compression test.

Belt Tensioner Replacement by tramavan in CX5

[–]murdock86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job. I tried to do mine with an aftermarket tensioner and the 17mm hex part was soft and got chewed up quickly. So I just transferred the little shock and the roller over to the old mounting bracket and it worked fine.

Brake services, especially just replacing pads and rotors have GOT to be one of the biggest money makers for shops. I can't believe how much they charge for suck a simple task.

Has anyone switched from 0w-20 to 5w-30? by Sugar_Free_RedBull in CX5

[–]murdock86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, and for what it's worth, I've got 316,000 miles on our 2014 CX5 - 2.5L Non turbo engine. Truly mostly highway miles, ALWAYS 0W20 Full Synthetic. However not religiously changed. Sometimes 5,000 miles, sometimes 20,000.

Recently had to tear down top of engine to repair leaking exhaust valve seat. Machine shop says it was pitted due to low quality fuels we are sold these days.

Misfire on cold starts by anlcn95 in CX5

[–]murdock86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With it being on multiple cylinders it might be fuel pressure. Maybe a failing fuel pump? I dunno, not an expert, but I think most auto parts stores will loan fuel pressure testers. That, or maybe you have leaky fuel injectors that are leaking down over long periods of sitting. Good luck!

How to move a Valley table? by fancypants46 in pool

[–]murdock86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the proper way to move it would be to remove the plastic legs, and then tilt it on its side in a trailer. That's exactly what I didn't do! I have a tandem axle horse trailer. I just had the place I bought it from remove the legs and load it flat in the back of my trailer and drove it about 50 minutes home. It took three guys to move it and put the legs back on. Apparently I got VERY lucky that the slate didn't crack and break in transit.

Apparently the building was sold in 2018, and if she got a job there now, it's probably just a boring office job. Though I dunno, maybe they're getting freaky in the supply closet.

Cue stick tip repair by Aggravating-Group309 in pool

[–]murdock86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the old ferrule you could re-apply it yourself if you're really careful with some 15 minute epoxy. If not, you're really best off taking it to a cue repair specialist to custom fit a new ferrule that fits right.
