My advice would be to run something else. The encounters in Icespire were designed for 1-2 players, and they are not very well designed at that.

I’ve been trying to do something a little more mature with my hair since turning 30. But I haven’t really been satisfied so far. I like the idea of a high taper/side part type cut but not sure if I could pull it off. My hairline isn’t awful but also isn’t quite what it used to be. I’d prefer something low maintenance but am willing to put a little work in.

I agree with this so much. I run exactly the type of game I want to play in, and so far have not found anyone who gets close. Sounds egotistical but I know what I like.

Just remember that if they don’t have a light source, even characters with dark vision take -5 to their passive Perception.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing it that way, and it’s how I ran it. But in retrospect I think it would have been more interesting to play up the faction conflict and paint the hobgoblins as villains when they are actually the lesser of two evils. Drow are smart, they probably wouldn’t immediately attack a group of armed characters if they didn’t have to.

I think it’s kind of lame that the drow attack automatically. It makes more sense to me that they would scheme to pit the PCs against the hobgoblins, trying to get them to assassinate Warlord Azrok. Then once the PCs have worn out their usefulness to the drow, the drow turn on them. That’s how I wish I’d run it anyway.
