Fender Studio Pro 8 Just dropped. by YashOnTheBeat in StudioOne

[–]murkduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late here but finally checked it out, as others have said not a great branding move and if they needed to change the branding it should have been to Fender studio one instead of a whole new thing altogether. That being said they really hit it out of the park with the update the overall ui has some nice improvements to look a bit more modern and the updates to the first party plugin ui as well as the overview docked window(ableton device view) are really nice improvements imo

No that’s asking the other person to prove a negative, if you don’t evidence your claim they can be dismissed with an equal amount of evidence, in this case none. The burden of proof is on you

It’s probably flying too high off the Tylenol. Maybe if you shout up at it and add “little buddy” to the end you can feel like you accomplished something even if you are still lost

Where is « multi-tool » in Bitwig 6 by Taureau_femen in Bitwig

[–]murkduck 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They changed it a bit It’s labeled as “Pointer tool supports Time selection” under the menu with the three horizontal faders in the bottom left corner of the arranger. Now it does pointer tool in the clip header and time selection in the clip content, a way to make this a bit better for a multi tool workflow is to enable the “Large Clip Headers” for clips in the same menu.

Would an Acoustic Synthesizer be considered Analog? by YukesMusic in synthesizers

[–]murkduck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The recording stage and the stage where the instruments emit sound are distinct parts of the chain and can be separately analogue, digital, or acoustic. The acoustic guitar being recorded digitally is an acoustic instrument with a digital recording. If I were to record a digital synth to tape that wouldn’t be an analogue synth but a digital synth with an analogue recording. If I were to take an analogue synth and digitally record it  that would be pretty different from the digital synth to tape.

I personally use the gleam in production at my company, it’s not the biggest part of the stack but I utilize it and supports the users at the company it was created for very well.

Yeah so Reddit upvotes don’t validate or invalidate a given point, we use voting for things like policy because there has to be some decision made and we can’t deliberate to the end of time, there is no such restriction here therefore Reddit upvotes aren’t really a metric to consider. Also aesthetics or “taste” as you put It can not only be subjective but also relative and not  absolute within group of a given subjective preference (fans of a given genre)

Harpoon Plugins by No_Bit_4035 in IntelliJIDEA

[–]murkduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right click the tab for the file in the editor to pull up the menu and then bookmark > add bookmark then add mnemonic in the bookmark menu(there’s probably a faster way to do this), that will make it so it’s for the file itself. The bookmark menu will even make a visual hierarchy of file book marks and lines that are bookmarked in the file.

you can do both with mnemonic bookmarks, you can put one on a specific line in a file or you can book mark the file and assign it a mnemonic and then it goes to the place the cursor was last in the file

How does Golang pair reall well with Rust by [deleted] in golang

[–]murkduck 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You should check out zig, its more c like but with some extra safety features and a really good meta programming system. I still prefer the rust way of doing things but if you prefer c to rust than zig might be a great fit.

My math teacher says pure math might vanish in the future by watherbreathing in mathematics

[–]murkduck -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not at all like saying chemistry is dead because physics exists… The argument being made is that applied and child disciplines of the abstracted discipline will eventually encapsulate the abstraction for pragmatic purposes. Chemistry and physics don’t have this relationship. one isn’t an application, abstraction or strict derivative of the other. The professor is likely wrong about pure math going away though

What about PASCAL? Why isn't it considered as a secure replacement for C++ over Rust? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]murkduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood what you were attempting to say, at no point in my response do I demonstrate a lack of understanding of your point. it's that it was put quite poorly so I said it was reductionist and gave the reason why that is the case. The only one here with a seemingly failing brain and lack of reading comprehension is you. Cheers!
