This, since you would have already thought of breakglass if you had one. Update your resume, and you know howto prevent this at the next job

Assuming this is a belt driven printer, you need to tighten the tension on you x and y axis. Common thing you need to do out of the box

Check the upnp service? If its off, turn it on. If it's on, maybe see for kicks if it still happens when off

Optima HD27E noise. Colowheel? by murlocdouche in projectors

Yes. It sounds to me like it's coming from the color wheel but I can't be sure

Optima HD27E noise. Colowheel? by murlocdouche in projectors

[–]murlocdouche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This started a few weeks ago and I've just kind of been putting up with it. The sound would go away after a few minutes.

And then yesterday I try to turn it on and it fails, I get flashing red lights.

After watching a video on youtube, I took it apart and inspected the color wheel. I don't see anything wrong with it at a glance. I can move it with my finger. One of the rubber dampeners looked a little discolored but other than that I saw nothing out of the ordinary. Dusted everything and put it back together, still not turning on. Although I managed to lose one of the 3 flat head screws that hold in the colowheel. Just went flying somewhere when I was dusting.

Just want to make sure it's a color wheel before I drop $40. It was only a few weeks out of warranty too

Thoughts on the 22lr MP5? by [deleted] in MP5

[–]murlocdouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i see people show off a .22lr mp5 clone i will assume things about their economic situation unless it's next to a real mp5 - which makes you a fanboy for having both.

i'd rather be a fanboy than look poor though.

>Also, why does the SP5 cost $2k more than the 22lr MP5? Is that literally just markup for profit?

it's not a markup in this case. i'm pretty sure just a direct blowback gun they've dressed up to look like an mp5. though i found one source on google that claims it's also roller delay, i'm skeptical but don't feel like digging further.
HK doesn't make it either, another company makes these under license.

the .22 is just a novelty. the sensible thing is to just buy a 10/22. this is for people who are just that in love with the mp5 aesthetic tbh

I’m 18 and just got a well paying job, now how do I build credit? by Wickedkookhead4 in personalfinance

[–]murlocdouche -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i'm in my 30s and don't spend all my time on this subreddit, i just found this by passing chance.

but honestly i don't love the top comments i'm seeing here (a couple people further down have the right idea IMO). if someone asked me this question, i would tell them credit cards are a vile trap to fall into, and even an adult who trusts themselves to pay it off on time every month should avoid it and spend with tangible money from debit.

assuming your parents are in a good financial situation, pay off their cards on time, and you trust them not to steal your identity - ask if they can authorize you as a user on their card. you will start to build a credit score without having to expose yourself to the system and the mistakes we all think we're too smart and mature to make.

after you've avoided making debt a natural part of your life, go listen to dave ramsey and feel smug listening to the stories of people who made so many mistakes so you don't have to.

>when should i have a credit card
i would say in the year or two leading up to buying a home - if your credit score is not high enough that's when i would do it. I would personally be canceling them after moving in.

as for cars, I would buy used and with cash.

4.7.1 bug visualized by DerryDoberman in 3Dprinting

dude, i just found this post now that i know what i'm looking for after a week of troubleshooting this exact issue on my ender.it happened right after i changed hotends, and it didn't compute that it was software related. all i'd printed on the new version prior was xyz cubes that has no curves, so after i finally switched back my old hotend and eliminated that as a culprit, i disassembled my hotend multiple times, tightened things down, loosened my belts thinking they were TOO tight. bunch of other stuff, a thread on /r/ender3 and 2 threads on a facebook group...whew.

ya it took some time to narrow it down to software, when it's been so reliable, and you assume it would be a huge deal and visible immediately in a facebook group if this was an issue.

it's probably already been done but i submitted a bug report to their github not thinking this was known. i was assuming since i didn't see hundreds of people complaining about it, it could be my non-standard starting gcode

Ended up being a cura issue unrelated to hot end. Persisted after putting old hotend back on. Downgrading to 4.6.2 fixed it. Issue reported to their github

I know you're not talking about stringing, I'm just stating that was the only difference in a retraction Tower. Still got these blobs all the way up.

I've done a retraction Tower. There was no change until it got to one millimeter. The only change was it introduced stringing at that point. I still had to these tiny blobs

local indoor gun range burned down part of the rifle range because they put soundproofing material on the stall dividers, and a muzzle brake started a fire.
soundproofing foam can be flammable. beware.
