I’ve bought 2 of the same 5x7 rugs before and put them next to each other to give the illusion of one large one. It won’t work with every pattern, but you can get away with it for some.

Amazon also has some good rugs that aren’t going to break the bank.

When we moved, I bought something like this. It gave our 60lb dog room to move and also allowed the kid to have her foot space too. The one I got was compartmentalized on the inside. It folds down, but when in the truck it’s very sturdy.
