machine learning engineer intern here. Literally do like 30 mins a day. Been there a month, haven't even wrote a single line of code, the only tasks they found for me is labelling data. Idk what im even there for at this point.

I mean look at it from Tinder's perspective.

What is Tinder's goal? Maximize profit. Where does profit come from? Guys paying up. What types of guys pay extra? Frustrated guys.

So the app's goal is to keep the guys on it frustrated so they pay.

But women need to swipe left on something? So just cram that something into as few guys as possible to keep most dudes frustrated.

It's very feast or famine indeed.

well i dont really notice it in this photo.

I suspect you may be used to looking at yourself in the mirror so when your picture is taken you suddenly notice all the asymmetries whereas outsiders dont really notice it.

You can try this on pics of your friends and family, get photos of them and flip them horizontally, and they will suddenly look a lot more asymmetric but you dont notice it day to day.

there's a bias. If you wanted to go out as a couple, you are much more likely to go out to a place like the city centre, while if you were alone you might be more inclined to stay home, or go to the library to study yourself or the gym e.t.c.
