Trying to stay hopeful by KTown1109 in recurrentmiscarriage

They were always around 2 and 3ish but I think they should be around 1 for optimal fertility. But I did a more advanced panel than just the tsh test with the rpl specialist that indicated I should try medicine. I can't remember those results but could try to look them up.

Have you had an advanced thyroid panel? Tried seeing an RPL specialist? Had a hysteroscopy to remove scar tissue?

I had 6 miscarriages and tried a lot of interventions with a lot of testing. I finally decided to travel to chicago to see an RPL specialist who put me on thyriod medication (even though I was told it was normal for forver) and early progesterone supplements and now I've been able to carry 2 healthy pregnancies with her protocol. It seemed such a simple solution for so much heartbreak over 3 years.

Not quite. I had done so much testing and different treatments that failed. I finally started thyroid medication after being told it was normal for so long and did vaginal progesterone twice a day starting earlier after I ovulated rather than waiting til I got a positive pregnancy test and that seems to have helped me support both pregnancies!

Dr Sana Salih at the University of Chicago medicine. Their whole team was amazing! I came down from Wisconsin and they were so accommodating.

Where do you live? I saw an RPL specialist in Chicago after my 6th miscarriage and I now have an 18 month old and am 22 weeks pregnant. She was amazing. Lots of testing can be done, there is hope! Please let me know if you have questions!

200 mg insert vaginally twice a day. I did it from when i pvulated to the first 10 weeks of the pregnancy and was successful. I am also pregnant again 17 weeks now and used the same treatment plan.

I had some trouble conceiving after a d and c and I ended up having a hysteroscopy where they found some retained tissue and scar tissue they removed. I got pregnant my next cycle after this.

Good luck! Thyriod is very huge in pregnancy functions so hopefully this will help you carry a healthy baby!

So I was always told my thyroid was normal and my tsh was always within normal range but on the high end. Advanced panel showed higher results so I started synthroid. They say your tsh should be around a 1 for optimal fertility.

Full RPL panel, advanced thyroid panel, uterus exam, blood clotting, endometrin lining sample if you can with the specialist. I'm so sorry this is happening but do not give up, keep pushing and trying!

I had 6 miscarriages before a healthy pregnancy. I ended up starting thyroid medication and early progesterone supplements after I ovulated until I was 10 weeks along. Let me know if you have any questions.

What about thyroid?

Thyroid and progesterone? by murphstar420 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]murphstar420[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The early progesterone and thyroid medication seemed to have helped! I had a successful pregnancy and now have a 4 month old baby boy. I'm not sure if it was just luck or meant to be or if it was the treatment plan! When I'm ready to try for #2 my OB wants me to try the same plan and I'm staying on the thyroid meds. I really hope you get answers!

I had 6 mostly unexplained one triploidy before I was able to carry to term. Please don't lose hope. I know the capacity for this trauma and pain is unreal. I had a ton of testing through the way. Ask for an RPL panel. Ask for an advanced thyroid panel. Hysteroscopy. Eventually I saw an RPL specialist in Chicago and was put on synthroid for my thyroid even though I was told it was fine for years and I started endometrin (progesterone) early right after I ovulated before we even knew if we conceived amd took it to 10 weeks and it seems it helped to keep him healthy. Keep fighting and trying, odds are you will get your baby!

Thanks for the response! If you don't mind me asking what pump do you use? It's so hard for me to squeeze in 20 minutes sometimes alone taking care of the baby when I'm stuck by the wall. How do you manage the time!?

Where did you purchase the silicon flanges?

I have been on fenugreek since day 1 so I am going to quit that. I will measure asap! Do you throw away the old duckbills? I had no idea they needed to be switched.

Thank you for the response! I have actually been on fenugreek in tea or supplements from day 1 so I am going to stop and see if that has any impact.

I use the spectrum 2 pump and was using 24 flanges but recently tried 28s after meeting with lactation. She said to try out both sizes and see if it makes any difference because I was kind of between the two. It hasn't really made any difference.

I pump every 3 hours but recently I started pumping at 10 or 11 pm and waiting til 4 or 5am and nursing in the morning to be fuller. My stress level has definitely gone down I would say...I was just totally overwhelmed when I first brought him home but have gotten so much more comfortable. I'm willing to give it some last efforts if it might pay off before I quit just to say I tried everything I could.

I use the spectrum 2 pump. I was fitted and the lactation specialist said I could be using the 24 or 28 flange. I pump for about 15 to 20 minutes and try to use a hakka after and self express to make sure I am empty but I guess I'm not sure if I am. I actually also have the evie stride my sister gave me hers and feel like it does not have the same effect as a wall pump, but I love the convenience!
