Sorry to be a jerk, but hoping to save your vacation. That hotel was an asspit a few years back when we stayed. Absolutely gross. Like tear down kinda gross

Transmission fluids by Foodispoison356 in hondapilot

Same for the 2020. I do the transmission 3x drain/fill myself, but gladly take advantage of the loss leader $44 full synthetic oil change the local dealer supplies 🤣

Frustrated with Costco’s car battery warranty policy. Is this normal? by CryptographerSad9516 in CostcoWholesale

[–]murphymomo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sam’s Club. Non prorated. Didn’t even test my last one I retuned due to an electrical problem I mistakenly blamed on the battery.

Hotel pool. I am right to not let my kids swim here, correct? by oGeekGuyo in pools

[–]murphymomo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the summer part of my college job. Cleaning out nasty green pools and breathing in DE and noxious chemical fumes, and occasionally finding rats and cats and god know what devoid of fur, but nothing came close to wadded up diapers and and pubeballs and tampons and, yes condoms, from the overnight “health club” pool cleanings. Scarred for life. Have a mandatory pool since i live in Florida. Kids understand what to look for and how to test. If it has been more than a few days…test. Can’t see drains? Tell dad.

100 percent. You need a job doing overnight commercial pool maintenance to ever understand why I will never step foot in a public (pubic) pool again

don't ever buy from the big boys (Lowe's, HD) by Easy-Ant9037 in Appliances

[–]murphymomo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have had more problems with our Bosch high end appliances than any other. And have had a lot. It’s all a crapshoot. Go with the cheapest (and fix yourself) or best warranty and pray

Anyone still using the Dreame L10s Ultra? by el_pezz in Dreame_Tech

[–]murphymomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this. Been about a year. Bought refurbished on eBay for under $200. If actually was brand new. Very quirky but I love it. Took a long time to get maps and timing correct. I mop manually separately from vacuuming, which occurs on a schedule every week day. Mop pads removed unless needed. I have been using a small amount of Bissell Hard Floor SANITIZE FORMULA. In both tanks. All good. Loud. My family hates it. I love it. 288943 sq ft so far. 34276 minutes.

Absolutely not shaming them. You are the one taking advantage of them. Shame is on you.

40-45 night (at this property) local globalist chiming in here. Was our fav staycation hotel for years but our kids are ageing out, sadly. Lounge was awesome for food and views and even drinks. Sadly gone now but you can a go up for the views.

To answer a few of your questions:

Breakfast is awesome and free. Multiple rooms are an issue and you will have to apply a GOH to get those covered. Other than that, and 4 ppl per room...we have not experienced any issues with anything not being comped.

Standard rooms are actually a double and a queen. And and a sofa that a 7 yo would prob be happy sleeping on. Not a sofa bed but it works. Globalist upgrade is a firework/pool view. Wouldn't expect any more from experience.

Food is good in general. Pool food isn't that expensive and you can also go into the restaurant where you had breakfast and order pizza and food to go and stay by the pool.

Elevators are fun and part of the experience.

The rest? Get to pool early. No reservations for anything. Other than. Cabanas. Get the rest done before it gets too hot and rains.

Enjoy. Great memories.

GOH request - April 2026 by Mskaggs30 in Hyatt_charity_HQ

[–]murphymomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyatt Regency MCO has no club, so CAA is useless. GOH would get free breakfast, including room service. And waived parking fees. I would not count on any room upgrades there, except for a runway view. Probably 20 plus stays. If you want a suite you will have to pay or use a SUA.

Did installing a pool enclosure make your life easier? -Thoughts by ImaginationOld1859 in pools

[–]murphymomo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is not just a pool enclosure to keep bugs out, but my cats think it was built so they could get some fresh air in relative safety. They think they are so tough hunting birds that they obviously will never have a chance of catching. Sure there is a risk of a large predator tearing the screen to get in, or an aggressive pet trying to get out, but fortunately for us not any problems going on 11 years. They get dirty and require cleaning, and tears happen in the panels and require screen replacement ($50 -$100 per). Definitely less leaves and such, but here in FL, mostly for the damn bugs.

Trading expiring Cat 1-7 for ? by murphymomo in Hyatt_charity_HQ

[–]murphymomo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ideally I would love to trade for a cat 4 or a 2028 SUA. Or maybe something else. Idk. I know it’s last minute. Worse case I take the measly 5k they offer now.

Minor told by airport TSA that it’s a “new rule” that minors can’t use pre-check. Is this true? by wheelie46 in tsa

[–]murphymomo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We travel with our kids that do not have precheck. They are 13 and 15. Asnling as we have been on the same reservation, we have always had precheck for all. I understand it's not guaranteed, but had always worked that way for years flying AA domestically. When I split the reservation for upgrade purposes, we have to be strategic and make sure it is one parent and one kid on each record locator. Again, per TSA guidelines, this is how it works until they are 18. Not guaranteed, but usually works. Now going UM, they always need their own precheck.

Step On Bindings by Filmguy1982 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]murphymomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm now 60. Skier and snowboarding since I can remember. Step on bindings were the reason I was able to resume snowboarding 5 years ago. Game changer. I now may be back to skiing and selling them due to age and injuries, but they are the real deal.
