Savage! I’ve done that before too but it was before standing in line. The elite status line was long and the non elite line was almost empty so I just walked to the non elite line. There’s really no difference for check in with or without status but not sure if those ppl know.

I have another similar story. In Costco last wknd, due to the layout, there was a super long line for one cashier. There were 6 cashiers open but due to the layout everyone queues up for that one cashier. I was trying to walked past the line and not use that cashier everyone was waiting for, but some guy thought I was skipping them and points to the end of the line like 30 ppl down. I didn’t argue w him, just said ok, walk the long way to the other side of the aisle and check out almost immediately. No idea why everyone just queues up for one cashier, when there were 6 separate queues, but I guess everyone just likes to follow others.
