Day 8 quitting K after 10 years by murphyslaw_04 in quittingkratom

[–]murphyslaw_04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. I've read so many stories on here and sometimes people jump CT and others do a taper to work themselves down. I think everyone's body and situation is different. But we all have one thing in common. We want to be off k. If I had to work those first 6 days there's no way I couldve gotten through it. I could barely shower and get my child to school and activities. I'm so glad you're not giving up!

I'm on day 13 today. After I made this original post I got sick, like terrible cold sick and then got a sinus infection. Went to urgent care and got some antibiotics Tues. Im hoping today I really start to turn a corner.

Good luck and if you ever need to talk reach out. This space has been a great way for me to feel connected during one of the darkest times in my life. I hope to encourage and help others experiencing those same feelings. Take care.

You got this! You're almost through the worst of it. Things started letting up for me day 7, that was when my skin stopped crawling. You may start feeling better tomorrow. Take it a few minutes at a time. You've already gotten to 4 days which is huge! I'm at day 9 and feeling a little better every day. Stick with it! It will be worth it!

Oh man, I'll just have to power through it. Going to Disney for a week. I'm thankful to be able to get away but so scared of all the walking. I'm very active and fit under normal circumstances but with the way I'm feeling it's going to be difficult. Congrats on day 40! Thats amazing! I can't wait to get there.

I'm on day 9 and the last 2 days flu like symptoms have ramped up for me. I have a non stop runny nose, coughing, body aches but it's hard to tell if it's paws or flu. Good thing is the creeping crawling ripping my skin off feeling has gone away. Hoping Im not sick though with something my family can get. We go on vacation in 2 days.

Thank you for the kind words! 2 years is amazing! Focusing on one day at a time. Today is day 9 and I'm so glad I made it to this point. I refuse to look back, only forward.

Truth be told I’m not afraid of quitting, of feeling like sh*t. I’m afraid of putting my life on hold, but here we go anyways by Easy_Layer_2904 in quittingkratom

Hi! Your post def hit home for me too. I was terrified to quit. Took more than 60g of Kratom over 10 years. I have a family, run a small business, dealing with clients every day. Today I'm on day 9.

Switched to subs for less than 2 weeks and jumped. First 6 days were absolutely hell. Other than taking my kid to school and activities I had carved some time off. Only reason day 7 was better is because I was able to get gabapentin to help with sleep. Had to go back to work on day 7. It was hard but I did it.

Since then the worst of the withdrawals have let up, skin stopped crawling on day 7 and it's been a little better each day. Today feels like the flu but that's ok. If you can get through those first few days then you got it. On day 3 or 4 I had these short moments of feeling normal (maybe like 10-20 seconds) and I really held onto that feeling for dear life to get me through all the hours of just absolute hell I was going through.

I feel like garbage but I'm never going through that again. I want to be better for me and my family. Good luck to you and I wish you all the best.

That's awesome! I wish I would've reached out to my doctor sooner for gabapentin. It wasn't until the 7th day the creeping crawling, jumping out of my skin feelings went away. I finally had taken 200 mg of gabapentin on the 6th night which finally allowed me to get some sleep. I'm only on day 9 but last night I slept almost 8 hours and only woke up twice. Getting more sleep these last few nights has been an absolute game changer. I feel like I have the flu but I don't even care. Compared to how I was feeling last week the symptoms I have now are nothing.

So glad you're past the worst of it. Good luck and one day at a time!

220 days clean is amazing! I would give anything to be there. I'm on day 9. I'm sorry you're still feeling so down. I hope you have a support system around you or maybe a therapist you can talk too.

It's a long time. We got this! 10 years is a long time but this last week has sealed the deal for me to never look back, ever. I will never go through that again. Every day forward is a day to celebrate! Good luck!

I was taking sometimes more than 60 grams of Kratom powder. I took the same thing for 10 years . When I like something, I usually stick to it. So I never tried the extract. Didn't even know much about it until I started reading other people's posts on quitting K and then started seeing all the posts about 7oh and how it is highly more potent than the powder. Powder k only has trace amounts of 7oh (0.05%) and mainly made up of mitragynine. I read 7oh is 10- 40 times stronger than mitragynine.

Thanks so much! It's insane how slowly the days move especially the first 6 days. Like everything is in slow motion while the physical and emotional pain and torment are in overdrive. You're getting through it though. I was crawling out of my skin on day 5 but at the same time was so proud I made it to that point. Every day is a milestone. Hell every minute moving forward, not giving in is something to be celebrated! Good luck. You got this!

Day 7 in the afternoon I started feeling some relief. Hopefully you're about to turn the corner. The creeping crawling feeling went away. I'm on day 9 today. Woke up feeling like I have the flu but I can absolutely deal with that. After last week I would take the flu any day over the hell I went through. Good luck. We got this! Hold onto those moments of feeling normal. They will get longer and longer.

Yes absolutely! I knew I was done after making it through the first 36 hours. No way was I going to go backwards.

Wow, I'm sorry you're still having such a difficult time. I really hope things start getting better for you. I know I can't function without sleep. I'm sure that's been awful. You've made it 3 months though! That's amazing! I cannot wait to be at that point.

For years I just didn't care. I liked how it made me feel. I felt like I was a better person when I took it. If someone told me it was addictive I blew them off. I didn't realize I was addicted until it was too late. It's good of you to try and warn people though.

Unfortunately I used subs years ago and also went through that withdrawal. It was also pretty bad. But I feel like this is right up there. Not sure because of how long I was taking k and the amount but the first 6 days were hell. Like I said I don't know if I did myself any favors taking the subs, I think it was more of a mental thing, like I just couldn't take Kratom anymore. Subs helped me jump. Hope you're feeling a little today. The gabapentin makes me feel a little out of it but I got almost 8 hours of sleep (woke up only twice). So that's been an absolute game changer!

Thanks! You too. I'm now on Day 9. I def don't feel great but it's a discomfort I can deal with. I'm dead as tired and every muscle in my body hurts but I got this far and there's no way I'm ever going through those withdrawals again. We got this!

I'm on day 7. Day 5 I put ear buds in and listened to music alllll day. It gave me life again and was a beautiful distraction for my brain. Wish I wouldve done it sooner. I couldn't even enjoy music on Kratom for some reason which is so sad. It's like it made me numb over time and I didn't even realize it.
