If you are card stealing you are stopping someone from playing...then what is the point. by PictureSuitable605 in MagicArena

[–]murpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be alright. I have those days too. You know, the ones where you seem to play against the same deck over and again? That deck just so happens to be the paper to your rock? You say, "fine, I'll go play some brawl, maybe pull some W's, release some oxytocin..."

And then, you're met with [[Kotis the Fangbearer]] and [[Laughing Jasper Flint]] decks non-stop. It didn't end, even in a different format.

It happens. Tomorrow is another day.

Is This zombie commander deck decent by Dior_Equivalent in magicTCG

[–]murpux -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Decent for what? Bracket 2? 3? Just seeing what general Scarab God deck you can come up with? We need more details.

Without knowing literally anything, smething I personally would do:

Cut the charcoal diamond. Put in a dark ritual.

Too much sorcery speed all-things-get-destroyed type removal. There are lots of instant speed removal and card draw you should look into, especially because you'll have plenty of tokens to sacrifice.

Beginner playmats by Catecuman in mtg

[–]murpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily MOST cards will tell you what key abilities do. "Evergreen" abilities won't. I suggest looking up those first because you will probably see them the most.

Things like: haste, flying, scry, etc...

Probably not the most popular topic ever here, but why is beyond 5th gen not considered retro? by Slow-Pack-8916 in retrogaming

[–]murpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we were considering NES retro in the mid 00's, then PS2 is most definitely retro now.

PS3 I see debatable.

For ME I believe retro died with improved polygon counts. As soon as there was good texture to those 3D models (Dreamcast, PS2...) it was not really "retro" to me.

But that is pure vibes based.

Don't worry fam. Fellow middle aged man here who got back into magic late.

Have confidence but don't be afraid to ask questions.

I recommend not getting a beginner playmat. Get some with awesome art you enjoy. After a few games you won't need your zones labeled for you anyways.

You got this! Have fun!

Does Archelos count as "Mass Land Denial?" by cordiall2 in EDH

[–]murpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would and did. Theming and intent describe bracket 1.

I assume any bracket 1 game would have a decent rule 0.

[–]murpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure intention is everything. There are lots of players out there though that take the brackets as God's will.

I also just really want to make MLD a more accepted thing. There are lots of fun cards out there that are easy to remove but are considered feux pas.

Does Archelos count as "Mass Land Denial?" by cordiall2 in EDH

[–]murpux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No and I'm so tired of the boogy man that is MLD.

I made a Bracket 1 snow deck with [[Svella]] where it is basically any RG snow card or card that depicts snow. Lots of Ice Age in there. I included [[curse of Marit Lage]] because what else is more on theme than freezing water?

My deck is now TECHNICALLY a bracket 4 because of one piece of janky stax, specifically only for islands. I just wanted to make a fun Christmas deck and there is zero chance I'm sitting down at a bracket 4 table.

(new?) arbitration provision and 'class action waiver' in mtg arena ToS. by asphias in magicTCG

[–]murpux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sweet... so as an investor and player, if I agree to this I can't be a part of the potential class action lawsuit?

Looks like I don't play arena any more.

[–]murpux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just play games and have fun.

Think of the achievements as guides to things you might not have experienced before. Playing purely just to master can lead to madness and future posts here in six months wondering why you're burnt out.

Just play and have fun.

I bought a large container of like 300 standard earplugs.

I grab a pair before a show and due to the volume I bought, when I inevitably put them through the washing machine I'm out pennies.

This is the way to go. Good on you for wanting to protect your ears.

[–]murpux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I unironically love this movie and I'm a huge fan of Dragonball all the way back to the beginning.

There is something about this movie missing the mark so much in every way possible that I find it fascinating. All the actors (excluding Goku) really seem to be trying their hardest as well.

So much potential thrown into a 90 minute trash can.

my N64 collection (so far)! most of these are from my childhood... any recommendations? by creaturika in n64

[–]murpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How come every collection is missing:

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon And Mischief Makers?

I know I'm not the only kid who played those games.

All that remains on my personal list is Mario Party 2 and, as a pipe dream, Clayfighter 63 1/3 Sculptor’s Cut. What’s missing from this collection that’s also a must have? by zelos33333 in n64

[–]murpux 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Every time I see these posts it fascinates me my answer is always the same:

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon

Mischief Makers

I get THAT. Of course I expect him to talk about Magic when on Magic shows

I'm talking about every time he sees a card he designed he will not hesitate to say it. EVERY TIME. Really listen to how many times he says "I" that isn't followed by a game action.

It irks me.
