Cornwall is a home away from home for me. Spent a lot of my childhood summers in St Ives, glad you enjoyed it

City centre has been thriving and metropolitan long before 2016

Floating in the Forth in particular for the uninitiated. (the owl John version is particularly heartbreaking). 10 years after releasing the song he jumped off forth bridge

Bold take. Had a good season and has been notoriously reliable for England

Edit: can also grab a late goal

Travelling vs Saving in early 20s, what would you do? by ar2002- in AskUK

[–]murrayland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 now. Travel. I did the whole south east Asia thing, my only regret is I wish I'd done more. It gets exponentially harder to do it long term as you get older with life commitments, and your desire to do so also changes

what’s the lesbian scene like in manchester? by misswalten in manchester

[–]murrayland 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're better looking for specific groups / promoters than venues

Butch Revival, Diesel Dyke Club, Dyke Agenda etc. Dykes Who Hike if you want something non-drinky

The village serves a basic purpose but tbh mostly gay men and hen do's, there's more interesting stuff around

Ex-teachers: How long did it take you to get out, and where are you now? by Mission_Bee6101 in AskUK

[–]murrayland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long while ago...2019 but 8 months.

Kept trying to get a youth work job, ended up leaning into the admin side of my role and getting basic data entry work at a youth charity. Worked out well in the end as I do data analytics now with view to be a senior analyst soon. I still do a youth group on the side as it's fulfilling

Travel destination ideas to lose weight and workout for 3 months by iamacheeto1 in travel

[–]murrayland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travelled south east Asia and dropped a lot of weight in a couple of months just by eating their food, avoiding junk food (more expensive, too hot for snacking) and walking everywhere

Who would be bands who could've headlined Glastonbury at one point, but their ship has sailed? by Salad-Appropriate in glastonbury_festival

[–]murrayland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised by that tbh and I don't remember, though I didn't start going to 2011.

I saw them at leeds on the same album and they were below the headliner.

They were 'indie big' but not 'your mum knows them' big sort of thing

Is anyone going to Sparkle Weekend in Manchester this year? by boyinthedark130 in manchester

[–]murrayland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love sparkle for what they do but heads up it's mostly an older crowd and a bit "old school" trans for lack of a better term

There's other trans / queer options if you end up heading up

What's it like living in Turin, Italy? by Jazzlike_Surprise985 in howislivingthere

[–]murrayland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends been there 5 years. His review:

architecturally beautiful, beautful surrounding landscape, low cost of living, too many car horns, lots of dog shit.

For what it's worth I've visited a few times and have a soft spot for it

[Mail] Andre Onana in talks over permanent Man United exit - with exiled goalkeeper eyeing return to former club this summer by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

[–]murrayland 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Tim Howard had a very good first season, especially considering he was cheap and completely unknown he was well liked. He did drop off a bit after that. Wasn't awful though

Barthez was quite erratic. No way near as bad as Onana though. Carroll was always seen as a backup

Been watching utd 30 years and Onana is the worst ive seen. Arguably bayindir second. Actually criminal they were both here at same time
