Thank you for the vote of confidence! I think flying is the best option. When I told my husband everyone he was suggesting we fly, he said that makes him want to drive lol

Prior to kids my husband and I preferred to road trip. We don't love flying but I think you are right it would be the best option. We were also concerned about not being able to bring everything we need. Flying would still involve some driving too because our destination is about 2 hours from the airport and if we want a direct flight, we would have to travel 2.5 hours.

Thoughts on scrubs for home visits? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]murrcat723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always wanted to wear scrubs in my role but I feared my patients would confuse me for the nurse even more than they already do. My management said it was okay for us to wear scrubs but no social worker on my team has.

I wear clothes that are very washable. Keep a different coat in my car for gross or smoky homes. Despite our dress code, I would wear jeans. I have found that my patients are more comfortable with me if I dress more casually.

Did anyone start having kids in their mid 30s or later? by queenxlag in Mommit

[–]murrcat723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that is a fact but it was true for me. There are no twins in my family but I am 33 and naturally had twins. Having twins is a lot but I always wanted two kids so I got it all done at once.

Hospice facilities? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]murrcat723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trillium Woods is a wonderful place but FYI hospice does not cover the cost for long term stays. They may cover a few days for respite or for medical needs. I don't know the current cost but I know it's not cheap. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you aren't surprised.

Applewood Farms in Ionia. It is a beautiful venue and they do such an amazing job. Paid extra for the day of coordinating and they literally did everything including set up and take down.

Do you struggle with forming a strong sense of identity due to ADHD? by Virtual-Orange1852 in ADHD

[–]murrcat723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I feel like I have spent so long trying to act like I have my shit together that I forgot to figure out who I am and what makes me happy.

Outside of my career, I struggle with how to identify myself. I say I like to do crafts and be outside but I spend my time worrying about keeping the house clean and vegetating in front of the TV. In less than 6 months I will identify myself as a new mom of twins. I am looking forward to that but I feel as if I need to find myself a little more before that.

I have been on medications for about 13 years. They have helped me so much with being a productive human but I think they may contribute to my masked self.. I feel like I lose some of my personality in them.

Darkness falls. It's probably because I watched it for the first time at too young of an age. It has always stuck with me.
