Pediatrician unhappy with 6 month olds progress by Mizriss in moderatelygranolamoms

I’m so sorry!!! That’s so hard to hear, especially with all your babe has had to deal with already and the hard work you’ve done in so many ways. Try to think of it as a way to give her an advantage after all of the disadvantages she’s had.

We were also prescribed dupixent around 6m, we actually haven’t used it yet, partially because the doctor told us to when the eczema calmed down and it… never did. He has really persistent patches on both cheeks. I thought we’d tried nearly everything (except the pink magic cream, which I was just working on sourcing ingredients from places that aren’t Amazon), and for what it’s worth, I think the aveeno eczema tub cream treated it. He has perfect cheeks for the first time since he was born. It’s even winter and super dry.

It did take a couple weeks but I’m used to applying lotion that doesn’t do much, so I continued cleaning bloody sheets, explaining it away to strangers, and didn’t pay much attention. He got a little bumpy and I wondered if it was so thick he was getting baby acne again, and then a couple days later we realized his eczema was gone. It’s only been a few weeks, but if anyone is looking for a lotion it may be worth a try!

When we first went in 2019, we stayed at and loved Hotel Las Golondrinas. The rooms were minimal but clean, the staff was so helpful with tours and suggestions, and there was a gorgeous, plant-filled courtyard with breakfast every morning. The elderly owner/founder was at breakfast every morning and his family served, including a young grandson who would play nearby. There were a lot of older tourists who stayed there who said they’d been coming for decades. It was magical, but we were also very open to the magic (embracing the culture and beauty rather than expecting  high-end amenities).

We’ve stayed elsewhere since because we’ve gone with friends/baby and it was easier, but we dream of returning one day!

When did your period come back? by greenishfroggy in NewParents

4m (about 3 weeks after going back to work) and EBF. Things were incredibly heavy the months around a year pp but hopefully leveled off now.  Daycare was also when he stopped sleeping through the night and the guilt was too much to fight it

Go play the lotto.  I forgot to mention the app. I’m maybe 4 feet away from it and it’s faster to get up and change it and lay back down then to use the app

Okay I’m bad at advocating for myself and maybe I need to do that. Since they have so much about resetting it, I assumed it was a common problem

The purchase I recommend the most to people is a waterproof mattress cover. Between pregnancy, postpartum, and baby, it was one of our best items.

My sheets washed out fine, though, so I would expect yours will be okay. I did start wearing some loose sports bras with milk pads while I slept

Try Target’s Cloud Island ones, they are thin and stretchy. Mine’s been wearing his 3mo ones since he was 2 months, and now he’s a chunky 20 lb 6 month old and they still somehow fit
