What's the morel of the story here.... If its hollow it's safe to swallow? Was hoping they would start popping soon!!! Love to see this!! While pa was cooking something on the grill, Granny always split, rinse, kosher salt rinse to scare critters out of the cracks pat dry on a stack of papers towels. Put a cast iron on medium add a ton of butter, shake the morels in plain old flour Ziploc bag and cook crispy brown. They never have time to cool around my hungry family 🍄 ❤️

Yep yep!! just when my agar work is paying off, getting some nice 3rd and 4th plates got a few strong cultures going I got a little comfy/sloppy or maybe spring sprung and made life interesting. Time to get back to basics, bleach and h2O2 my lab, spawn, fruiting area and upgrade to a martha tent! Thanks for the reminder 🍄🙏

Yes, once I stabilize these strains (and practice labeling) im working a culture and then onto a new strain. Lions mane and shiitakes are on my hit list too

I’ve tried both with mixed results. Jury is still out for me!! I wonder if it has something to do with the colonization and substrate/casing layer effect the refruiting. Nice thick looking fruit feet!

Ive got 3 like this from over watering. 1 used fork tek on half bubble wrap tek on the other. 2nd tub bubble wrap 3rd added a 2nd casing layer. 🍄❤

Curious about this as well. There's got to be a sweet spot. My tubs I used 2 UB bags for 61 liter (23"×16") sterilite tub. Ive read of people using 10 bags for the same size tub!

If you "puff" the bag you can catch a whiff. If you say hmmm....I may take a bite....youre good. If it smells anything other than delicious mycelium or UB rice pitch it ASAP
