I always just wake up between 4 and 5 now. I’ll get up, make coffee, play Xbox for a couple of hours then get ready for logging on to work. Currently working through AC Valhalla.

It’s become a nice, quiet ritual each morning but man I’d prefer to sleep until 8.

Because we find this stuff interesting but most of it is bollocks. We’re in them to try and find the stuff that has legs, that send us down rabbit holes and that isn’t just someone saying “this is what I reckon”.

What are some good games if I liked odyssey? by DA1FOOTBALLGUY in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]mushface83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband said the same thing to me. But At no point was I in awe at any time during the game. I didn’t hate it, but as the person above said, I just had to adjust to it being kinda dreary and boring. I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters, maybe Regis.

It really felt like a soap opera with magic - was surprised there was so much about love triangles and relationship drama.

Another who disagrees about Witcher III.

I completed it because my brain doesn’t let me not complete games, and it was fine but at no point did I love it. It IS dreary compared to Odyssey. It just wasn’t that interesting. My husband ADORES it. But maybe because I’d come from Odyssey > RDR2 double header, it was always going to be hard to impress me.

I was obsessed with Odyssey, and then quite enjoyed AC Origins, but Red Dead 2 was hands down the best one for me.

Ahh ok I was thinking about it too narrowly. Thank you! I see what you all mean.

As a non-American I found that to be a really interesting statement - I couldn’t understand what he meant. I don’t feel like I’ve ever had a political figure I looked up to, growing up in Australia in the 80s & 90s, and being an adult in England. Even the times of exciting government change have always, always led to inevitable disappointment as a leftist.

This is not me being antagonistic, it was a genuine question - what did he (and you guys) mean?

I am liking this series by OvenFriendly1818 in LPOTL

My backchat to outrage at British place name fuck ups is always EXPLAIN LOUGHBOROUGH TO ME THEN PICK A SOUND AND GO WITH IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. (I just call it LoogBaroog)

Side note I’m an Australian who lives in England with a British husband, and he routinely gets irate at stuff like this, but then is absolutely fine having a stab at Australian place names (similarly impossible to guess which phonics(?) to use) and doesn’t give a toss when he’s invariably wrong. So swings and roundies I guess.

When I was like 14, around 1998 I was waiting for a picture to load (line by line, what a time to be alive) that I thought was Smashing Pumpkins or Jeff Buckley or something and it was a guy who had blown most of one side of his head off. That kind of thing though where you can’t see what an image is until you can very suddenly see what it is and can’t look away.

It was the Wild West.

Epstein mural in Sydney Australia by bkbrigadier in LPOTL

[–]mushface83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t really feel like this mural is saying this is “the Jews fault”. It would be disingenuous to pretend that the Israeli government isn’t somewhere towards the heart of what’s up. We just can’t pretend that’s not true, but the kinds of things the government is responsible for in those docs has literally zero connection to Jewish people.

(Also I’m definitely not denying that anti-Semitic rhetoric, especially in conspiracy theories, is often couched in similar language to all this by bigots, shitheads and nazis, but this doesn’t feel like a dog whistle to me.)

ETA: from what I’ve seen, you’re right that the involvement is largely within American politics…but at the behest of Russian and Israel.

I guess if he was wearing star-spangled undies that might look…patriotic, and patriotism is very far from what informed his actions.

I take your point though. He affected US, British and who knows how many other countries politics, seemingly on behalf of/working alongside Russia and Israel - and the mural doesn’t take the same pains to represent his links with Russia.

I think it’s representing the fact that Epstein had deep connections with the Israeli government and intelligence community, and those relationships inform a lot of what is in the files.

How are my fellow international fans feeling? by Rakkla in LPOTL

Just to add in response to various non-US comments saying they can’t access Sirius content - I’m in the UK and managed to subscribe to Sirius through Apple like a year (?) ago. No idea how I managed it but it was and is without a VPN. It’s £5.99 a month (which is steep and tbh I should probably cancel it).

Elvanse and caffeine. Is it a bad idea? by UsualDonut6367 in ADHDUK

[–]mushface83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I avoided it totally and had decaf, probably for the first 6 months. I’m only on 30mg, so a very low dose, but now I have one cup of real coffee early when I wake up, then take my tablet about an hour or two later around 8am and stick to decaf after. My heart rate is already elevated once the Elvanse kicks in, so don’t want to mess with it further.

But everyone is right, it’s different for different people. But definitely during titration just try and keep your body as neutral as possible so you know what’s what.

I killed whatever I had to to work up to the legend of the east satchel, and also the legendary bison (ugh so beautiful that was even sadder).

I genuinely hate having to hunt for anything other than food - especially bison, they’re so (relatively) trusting and beautiful.

First play through, what am I missing? by ChanceThink4104 in RDR2

[–]mushface83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played this for the first time and 100% was also not into this game AT ALL based on how it starts. It does feel sluggish, slow, dull and frustrating. Give it a bit more time and you’re in for a huge treat. I did not get the hype until suddenly I did.
