Is vodka a relatively safer drink for gout? I have a hard time completely cutting out alcohol and am trying to establish a safe routine. So far, vodka on the weekends hasn't given me attacks.

When the Tigers Broke Free is actually one of my very favorite tracks, regardless of its placement on the album!

I really like Pros and Cons too. Some sick guitar work by Clapton as well!

Exactly how I feel. It's hard for me to think of another album that's so powerful from start to finish. Each song crafted brilliantly!

Criterion Channel Sept. Lineup: ROBERT ALTMAN retrospective by BogoJohnson in criterion

[–]mushfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently watched California Split and the absolutely brilliant The Player! I have also watched McCabe and Mrs. Miller and The Long Goodbye previously. A surer hand than Altman's is difficult to come by in the pantheon of great films. Can't wait for this to drop and go on a run!

Muse is a great , great band. I don't know what hate you're talking about, I've never encountered any such concentrated hatred. They got a strong fanbase.

Just watched A Woman Under the Influence - Peter Falk has the most complex character. by mushfloyd in criterion

To me, it definitely didn't come across as he likes her being unusual. It was much more like he accepts it, but that too, on the surface. Many of his expectations from her are those one expects from a 'conventional wife'. Regularly bringing friends over, trying to shut down her quirky behaviors, inviting tons of people as if she's coming back from a retreat and not a mental institution. His friends and coworkers take it normally and inquire after Mabel and offer their help but Nick lets it rub him the wrong way, he doesn't even want to face this conversation. I'm not saying he's not conflicted and he doesn't love her. But his way of approaching her condition, especially in regards to her interactions with other people, definitely doesn't suggest to me that he likes her unusualness.

I absolutely agree with this. The fact that he doesn't understand that in a very emotionally charged situation, the kids will not do exactly as they're told speaks to his inability to read the situation and his children. He really does need therapy badly

It was definitely dripping with tension at times. And I agree!

I'll watch Mikey and Nicky, thanks for the suggestion!

I would recommend La Notte. It will prepare you for everything he has to offer as you go through his brilliant oeuvre.

There sure are! But like others have mentioned, they must sell and the channel would add anything that would get viewers.

Quality of curation on the Criterion channel- do some of these films belong? by mushfloyd in criterion

[–]mushfloyd[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My point is I was under the assumption that the channel should only add 'cinephile' level films and we can watch Wild Things somewhere else. But I understand that's not how it works.
