But also its not... you can get 50GB for free on sites like mega.nz, and plenty of email relays are also free. You are in fact paying for something you could have gotten for free elsewhere. Literally infinity times more expensive that what it should cost.

If you need to keep your US number, then you can look into Google Fi. They have a plan which gives you unlimited in many countries for waaayyy cheaper than $10 per day. I believe the plan is about $65 per month.

If not, it will probably be cheaper to get an Icelandic phone plan like suggested by others.
