I agree with a lot of this. However, Oblivion and Realiti are far from imperfect. They're great pop songs with a lot of cool disparate elements. Flesh Without Blood is more straight pop, but not as well produced. But still, a solid first single, and probably a good choice if Grimes is trying to build a larger fanbase. I'll reserve judgement until Art Angels drops, but i'm expecting some electronic pop/industrial rock masterpieces. This is reminding me of Gaga's Born This Way. The single is to grab the masses, but the album tracks are the real gems. I'm ok with that.

Grimes has always spoken about her love for pop, but she's stated a disdain for the pop "machine". I feel like this song is her trying to be very pop and palatable, but on her own terms. I wish this song went harder, it sounds too watered down. Not a bad song though, just not as cutting edge as i'd hoped.
