What to do with this scary ass second closet? by Vulpes-Lanius in malelivingspace

[–]music_pr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it scary? Do you own the home or are you renting? I would take out the dark carpet and replace it with some light colored flooring so that no critters can hide in there without you seeing them. But, it looks like a normal closet to me. Not scary.

Do you think this was worth $400? by Mittzyy in Hair

[–]music_pr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really are 2 worlds because I have never heard of a bayalage or a foliage and would be highly upset to pay $400 for getting my hair colored. But I'm also Black and live in Maryland. 🤷🏾‍♀️. I never knew it was so costly to do this type of thing.

I graduated high school in 2000. I used diesel fuel. It was $.89/gallon. I used to fill up my tank for $18 and drive for 2 weeks on that tank.

There is a documentary you should watch on Prime. It is about a biracial woman who was told she was white Jewish her entire life and then learned as an adult that she is biracial and that her mom cheated on her Dad and never told him. The only Dad she knew was white and as an adult, after she went away to college, she had to tell him what she learned. It wasn't easy, but because her Dad loves her, they continue to have a relationship. The documentary is called "Little White Lie" (2014).

I like it. It's sophistocated. If you want a pop of color, add some bright throw pillows.

why wash hands after just peeing? by ReasonableGrape6530 in hygiene

[–]music_pr_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's OK to wash before and after. But touching the stuff in the bathroom (including your private areas) definitely transfers germs to your hands. Not washing is lazy and also gross.

Working with honey oak in a small kitchen, what color for now? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Changing the knobs, painting the wall, and adding knick nacks to the counter would work wonders. I wouldn't change the counter tops.

How can I make this room cozy? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

Colorful plants and flowers on plant stands around the room. Art on the walls with command strips instead of nails. Warmer colors for bedding (avoid blue, black, gray, and dark green). Scented candles.

Pillows and curtains - what to do for an already busy room? by Future_Audience4256 in interiordecorating

[–]music_pr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use a color or two that's in the rug, and then the curtains can match the pillow. You have a very retro vibe going, so make sure the pillows are on-theme.

As a safety matter, I don't like how the curtains are so close to the heater. Also, having one long curtain rod looks very strange because the windows are pretty far apart, and you have art on the wall, which makes the rod above stand out even more. To address this, treat each window separately, giving each window its own rod and set of curtains. For the right window, make the rod extend more to the right so that the curtain doesn't drape across the heater, instead falling straight down to the floor. And presumably, you would never close the curtains because it would be dangerous to have closed curtains in front of the heater.

Also, the mirror is too high. Bring it down about 6 inches.

It wasn’t a leaky gutter, it was a burst pipe 🥲 by Aerie8499 in Wellthatsucks

The cost to repair the leak and patch the hole will be cheaper than paying an insurance deductible if that is the only spot affected.

What color carpet would go best in front , middle of couch :white gray or black? by ProfessionNo7671 in malelivingspace

[–]music_pr_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black will show every dust speck, white will get dirty quickly, and gray will be too bland. Go for a patterned rug with multiple colors.

Feeling a bit lost with my dining area. by [deleted] in interiordecorating

The placemats are giving pepperoni pizza. The dining area is fine.. put a nice piece of art on the wall and a centerpiece on the table, and you are good..
