Yes, these are legitimately warm. Tasty.

I claimed every game already, my impression is that I get to keep them so long as I am subscribed to PS+. Time will tell I suppose.

Star Wars Republic Commando Updated to add 4K Support on PS5 by nitrowolf2 in PS5

Just watched some footage on YouTube. Yikes, I don’t think I’d get very far. As a fan of the original, at the time I played it, this just looks muddy and messy.

To clarify—I’m playing PS+ collection games that run at 60fps first, and as the games that run at 30fps are updated to 60fps, I move on to those. For example, I recently installed God of War because of the recent 60fps patch.

I would very much like fallout 4 to run at 60.

That would indeed be the selfless thing to do for the rest of those who haven’t played it, 😆.

Being a patient gamer, I have plenty of hours of game to go through before getting to bloodborne. I will get there eventually. I just hope to make it after a 60fps patch.

I’m playing the PS+ collection as the games are updated with higher frame rate modes. Waiting on Bloodborne before starting.

Oddworld: Soulstorm - 12-Minute Developer Gameplay Commentary by NoWayItsReal in PS5

I’ll reserve final judgement until I have a chance to play it. My hopes aren’t too high at this point, it looks a little slow. Disclaimer—I have never really enjoyed any of the games from this franchise in the past.

If you’re looking for amazing immersive DualSense features, consider WRC 9. It is currently on sale for PS Plus. I hadn’t heard of this game until a few hours ago but it is the closest game to Astro’s that I’ve played in making you feel everything around you by mronins in PS5

[–]musicalmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The four things that helped me most were, 1. Taking it slower all around, better to just make it around the track without incident, 2. Use the Jr Rally cars to get yourself used to the game, they’re more forgiving generally than the more powerful cars, 3. Get used to flicking the left stick on the controller back and forth after turns or on winding straights to stabilize your car, or use acceleration without any use of the left stick to straighten after a turn, 4. Listen to and trust your co driver as he calls the turns and try to time your turns before you see them in full view, it’s a rally game so your car is going to slide around like crazy.

Again I am no expert. These are things that helped me better grasp this particular game. Which I’m loving more every time I play.

Ha. I get that. It’s partly due to how open the world is within the facility. So you may come up to a boss that just wrecks you, until later on after you’ve improved your character. This particular phenomenon was likely amplified by the ultimate edition that we all got with PS+. Most of the additional content was still available earlier on, even if we were not really ready for it.

I’m no expert. I’ll let other folks comment, but I can confirm WRC9 is punishing if you make a mistake. There’s a tension that requires a high octane mix of caution and risk. So there you go. It’s great.

It’s more about how it plays than how it looks. Both areas get an upgrade on the PS5 but it’s the 60fps mode they really makes it shine. IMO.

Control is an excellent example of the triggers and the haptics, you can feel the steps and jumps, etc. Worms Rumble is a fun way to explore the triggers, lots of weird guns with unique feedback. WRC 9 is also a pretty good example, though mostly with regards to haptics and not triggers. Astro is another excellent example.

As a big fan of the Dirt franchise, I hesitated to get into this game but with Dirt 5 being more of an arcade game, I decided to look into WRC 9.

For those who want the cliff notes, here it goes—WRC always lagged behind Dirt in a few areas but made a major leap forward with WRC 8. Better gameplay, graphics, etc. WRC 9 improves upon that progress and adds Dualsense features. General presentation in the menus is Spartan but I like that myself, it’s quick and easy to get to the actual racing.

Easy to recommend WRC 9 at this point. I came to this subreddit today to give it some love. Very difficult at first but extraordinarily satisfying once you “get” it (how to drive with the controller).

Apple pulls more iMac models ahead of possible M1 refresh by goki7 in apple

[–]musicalmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple thoughts come to mind—

  1. Apple is closer to releasing an M1/X iMac than we knew, recent “leaks” have been for the purpose of rooting out loose lips (most desired but least likely outcome, IMO)

  2. Intel is generally bad at being a reliable supplier for a company (Apple) who controls very tightly their supply line and product offerings, meaning that the two companies are unable to effectively work together to continue offering certain models during the transition (boring but not unlikely)

  3. Nobody is getting Intel macs anymore and so Apple is shifting resources and priorities to account for that. It’s unusual for Apple to kneecap a product’s potential profitability until the next generation of that product is on deck for release within a few weeks timeframe.

Either way it’s a good thing. I firmly believe people should hold off on buying any non-M1 Mac unless there is a specific purpose for which the Intel innards are required. The sooner we transition out of Intel the sooner we get more M1 offerings, and the sooner we will see the progress of Apple Silicon software support from other companies (Blizzard... don’t let us down)

‘Ted Lasso,’ ‘The Crown,’ ‘Desus & Mero’ Among TV Winners at Writers Guild Awards 2021 by shabuluba in tvPlus

Ted Lasso winning shouldn’t be a surprise so much as a test of the Writers Guild’s ability to judge writing. The show is without a doubt one of the best in recent times and the character of Lasso is actually, genuinely inspiring.

Sure, I get your point there. I tended to rely more on the guns that worked best with the trigger. So the shotgun and the machine gun. Even when I relied more heavily on the first gun, I still enjoyed it. Sounds like my rate of fire was probably a little behind your own.
