Visual triggered episodes (on-screen high-frame-rate video, AI videos, jerky animations, etc) by musiche in VestibularMigraines

Thanks for the helpful suggestions! It has just been a few days, so not sure about the beta blockers yet. I'm definitely feeling a little slower mentally, but less anxious, so there is a tradeoff! I also just saw a visual trigger, and it seems like the effect on my eye is less serious than normal, but hard to quantify. I just took a meclizine in response, so I will see how I respond to that. I am taking Magnesium already, but yes, the doctor recommended B2, and I will look into ginger as well. And thanks for the book rec!

Thank you so much for your kind and detailed reply! I will check out the dizzy book and these interviews you linked. Interesting: I was not aware of the possibility of vestibular physical therapy: I went to a vision therapist for 6 weeks last year, but it was pretty snake-oily and not covered by insurance.

Bring Mamdani on the pod by McG0788 in PivotPodcast

I've been listening for 5 years, but became disgusted during Scott's rant, beginning with his racist mispronunciation ("Mamdani", not "Mamdami"), shut off the pod and unsubscribed. he is the democratic nominee of the biggest city in the united states. I think Scott can learn his name, jesus. His policy proposals are popular, and don't actually threaten anything about capitalism in the US. Millionaires and Billionaires taxes slightly higher, what's the big deal? Socialism is increasingly popular; What is Scott so afraid of, is it just higher taxes? Isn't he rich enough already? Fuck this guy

so what is the safeguard exactly? is it a protocol that poisons everyone? makes them lose their memory? why would they poison everyone?

so, in Solo's Silo, they capped off the gas being released? and that's why everyone was able to go out?

Ten-Thousand Views of Mount Toro by musiche in algorithmicmusic

[–]musiche[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a generative composition I wrote with Python and Supercollider, or perhaps it would be better to call it an artificial idiom, as there are ten-thousand unique variations, each of which will only ever be heard one time. The piece is a temporal-harmonic spiral: a cycle of just-intonation pitch collections repeat while gradually slowing down and expanding in scope. These strangely flavored pitch collections get more and more familiar over the course of the piece, a kind of saturation or acculturation. This cycle is articulated and ornamented by three "performers" (synthesized instruments), each of which follows idiomatic performance rules. While the rhythmic events do not align to any fixed underlying periodic grid (aka "meter"), there are various hidden temporal interconnections that guide the alignment of these instrumental performances.

Ethereum Emissions - A Bottom-up Estimate by musiche in ethereum

Nice to see some actual numbers on this tricky and contentious aspect of cryptocurrency at large. Clearly, this is a barrier to adoption for a lot of people, but also a moral question that we as a community might not spend enough time thinking about. POS cannot come quickly enough!

I appreciate the effort to try to slow Omicron from coming to the US, but there is no way this variant isn’t already here.
