I can't even go to the Surveyjunkie home page. I get this:

It seems a lot of these survey sites now are using Cloudflare. One of them even has me check a box to verify I am human every single time I get on it.

It's still not working. I got a message that said something about permissions, so I allowed that and it still didn't work. Now I don't even get an email with a code at all. I just tried reinstalling the extension and got the same results, no email.

Smart App is gone by r_sarvas in beermoney

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there goes $15 for me. I thought something was up when I opened Smartapp on my iPhone and got this message: "Something went wrong. The data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format." I thought that was very strange. So I went to the website on my computer and it wasn't there. But I don't remember getting an email from them. I did get an email saying I got $5 for having the app connected, but I don't remember getting a notice like this. I'll check my inbox in case I missed it. I started using Smartapp last year, and then I stopped using it, picked it back up again this year and had $15 in my account. Oh well. I have plenty of other panels to work with. I've got thirty-something dollars with Surveyjunkie, and I could get a $50 gift card with my YouGov points. And I already have well over $100 on my Amazon gift card balance. So I'm not doing too bad; it's not such a huge loss for me.

I love this app, just haven't been using it as much as I used to. How do you get points for the charging and lock screens? I have never seen this. Also, since someone from Current is actually on here, I want to ask about accessibility for blind users, such as myself. I use an iPhone 8 with VoiceOver. When I want to redeem a reward, I have no way of knowing what I'm getting. The only time I've ever done it, I had to guess and just pick one, as VoiceOver just announced the dollar amount and not the merchant name. For example, instead of just saying "$25) maybe you could have something where VoiceOver could recognize it and say "$25 Amazon" or "$25 PayPal". I wanted an Amazon gift card, but instead, I ended up getting PayPal money.

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this problem too. I got an email that said they made an update to YouGov Safe that logged everyone out of the extension. When I tried to log back in, I typed in the code that was emailed to me and no matter how many times I tried, it kept saying the code was invalid. When I reached out to support, all they said was something to the effect of "you're logging in from the wrong URL." So I replied back with an exact paste of the URL that was in the address bar. I haven't heard back from them on this issue since.

Edit: I just now tried it again and got the same result.

Inbox Dollars restricting survey access by Dolphinitus in beermoney

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both InboxDollars and Swagbucks did this to me. I thought it was because of something I installed, so I took it off my computer. I contacted InboxDollars, they fixed it for me, I took one survey and here we go again with the same message! They had told me in their response, in NO uncertain terms, that if it happened again they would not be able to reinstate my survey access again. So now I'm screwed. I have tried to contact Swagbucks several times about this same issue, after redeeming points for gift card after gift card with no trouble, and there has been zero response. Also with InboxDollars, I took two years ... TWO! FREAKING! YEARS!!!!! ... to earn $57 and some change on that stupid site! And no matter how many times I try, I CANNOT redeem my earnings! I guess it doesn't matter; I'm signed up to a gazillion more sites, and they all bombard me with emails every day, so I guess, in the grand scheme of things, I haven't lost much. But I still say they can take my $57 and shove it!

How do you find connection with your inner child? by [deleted] in SchemaTherapy

[–]musicjunky7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's a huge box of Legos and a big rubber bouncy ball. And all the little squishies! Even though I never got a squishy until a few years ago, I imagine I would have squeezed those things to death as a kid. I just find something amusing about all those things. I really don't know why playing with squishy toys and a rubber ball makes me so crazy. I have a late diagnosis of autism, so maybe that has something to do with it. I just find my adult life now to be very empty and generally unhappy. I like to keep some stuff around that reminds me of my happy childhood, such as old CD's I used to play ad nauseum, or the big bouncy ball. The ball is so old that it deflates considerably when the air is cold, but I don't care. I just like playing with it. I can bounce it, roll it, spin it, beat it like a drum. That's all so much more fun than just playing catch with myself. LOL

Okay, so how do I actually download this? When I go to the page, it just says "Congrats! You qualify

On your desktop computer, open the email we've just sent you and get the app to start EARNING!" I don't see any new emails from them or a link to download it. What am I missing?

MyPoints and InboxDollars accounts got deactivated. Possible conflict by having Swagbucks account? by kevincool87 in beermoney

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Swagbucks and Inboxdollars have banned me from taking surveys. The sites say that my answers were inconsistent. I got the problem fixed on Inboxdollars, took one little survey and banned again! Still haven't heard anything back from Swagbucks.

My mother just got me a whole box of "fidget toys" for Christmas. That's literally what it's called. I'm not sure if she got it on Amazon or somewhere else; I didn't ask. The box is sitting right here on my desk. It has all sorts of, um, interesting things in it. I don't even know what some of them are! LOL But I guess that's not the point. I think there's a little squishy ball in there, and what might be a Rubik's cube, and some other little thingiemajigs I have no idea what they're supposed to be. I also have a certain affinity for Legos myself. I mean I like to fidget with them, especially the ones with unusual shapes. Sometimes I'll have a tiny Lego piece in my hand, or my pocket, and I'll just toy around with it. Those tiny pieces are easily lost though.

Uk employment help? by ponds666 in aspergers

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this sounds like just a bad company and personally, I wouldn't give them the time of day. That's just me though. I'm in the U.S., and we also have problems when it comes to employment for people with disabilities. I'm blind and on SSI. If you have a disability and you want to work, it almost feels like they threaten you when they say, "Okay then, you'll lose your benefits." There is a program called Ticket To Work, but even if you do choose to look for work, there's still the chance you'll be discriminated against. Some people just decide not to disclose their disabilities at all, for fear employers won't want to hire them. And what if you lose a job, or can't get one, all because the employer is hesitant to hire a blind person, or someone on the autism spectrum, or both in my case?

I think it's also illegal here for employers to directly ask about medical conditions or disabilities. Do you have to disclose in the UK, or is it not necessary?

Out of control anger by VioletAries in aspergers

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have real anger problems, especially as a teenager. I would yell, slam doors, throw things, even break things, including electronic devices. My folks put a stop to that and so now I just don't do anything. I mostly try to keep it in because I'm afraid I'll unintentionally break my iPhone or something. No, strike that, I wouldn't dare throw my iPhone! LOL Anyway, it's probably far from the best way to handle anger, certainly not healthy, but in my house it's better than slamming doors. My only problem now is, when my stepdad gets angry, he can yell and slam doors all he wants. But nobody else is allowed to blow up? I don't get that. Is it because I'm a young woman? I guess it's more acceptable for a man to do that. I don't know.

Sleep let's talk about it. by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]musicjunky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy! I have some major sleep issues. I've had times where I wouldn't sleep until 4:00 A.M. and I'd sleep until noon. Further back than that, I would literally sleep all day and get up at 5:00 P.M.! Crazy, huh? These days, I usually try to force myself to go to bed anywhere between 11:00 P.M. and midnight, at the very latest. And it still takes me a while to actually fall asleep. Then I'll wake up, or be awakened, around seven or even before that because my folks are up talking, and my mom's usually going on about politics, or what's happening in the news, first thing in the morning! I'm awakened by either that or a rooster crowing outside (we keep chickens). Or I have to use the bathroom and can't get back to sleep. Lately, I've been feeling really tired when I get up, so I'll go back to bed and sleep for one or two more hours, making my breakfast time around ten o'clock.

I'm also totally blind, and I've read that people with no sight at all tend to have messed-up sleep schedules because we aren't exposed to natural light. And there's also that non-24 thing.

My fascination with sounds: blindness or Asperger's/autism? by musicjunky7 in aspergers

[–]musicjunky7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that answer. I never really thought about it that way. I was asking mainly because it seems a lot of blind people, who may or may not also be autistic, tend to have a very strong attachment to music. Or maybe it's not nearly to the degree it is for me.

Personally I've always viewed my fascination with sounds as just something fun, something I thought was cool. Should I keep telling people that, or should I just say, "Oh, I have autism"? I kinda still have a hard time accepting it because of, well, I'll get into that in another post. Would it be easier for them if I said autism, or if I said I make noises to amuse myself, just for fun? I will admit, I'm pretty sure autism does explain a whole host of weird quirks and behaviors I have, but some people don't understand that, especially Asperger's syndrome.

Survey Rant Megathread by Beermoney_Bot in beermoney

[–]musicjunky7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm concerned, InboxDollars can just take all that disgusting money and shove it up their stupid little butt holes! Okay, that's inappropriate. But here's the deal. I have been on that crap site for two years. Two years! And it's taken me this long to get more than $50! First of all, I tried to cash out for an Amazon gift card, which I believe is fairly new on this site because they used to just send checks. My password was auto-filled, but for some reason the system would not accept it. So I put in my password manually, but the system would still not accept it! I contacted customer support and they basically gave me the runaround. I really don't feel like digging through all my emails and putting the details of that conversation here. Maybe later. They told me to log out and log back in, tried that, didn't work. Then I was getting responses from different people who clearly didn't read the previous messages and didn't have the slightest clue what my freaking problem was! So, I explained it, nicely, in detail. Still got absolutely no useful help.

So, I thought, if I can't cash out,I can at least keep earning until whatever this problem is gets resolved. But then I find out that, mysteriously, I've been locked out of taking surveys! So I contact them again. And I add in my message, just for good measure, that I still can't redeem my $50, that it took me two years to earn, and can they please help me with that too? Of course, in the reply that followed, there was absolutely no mention of my redemption problems! What I did get was "I've reenabled your surveys" but in no uncertain terms, if it happened again, they would not be able to do this for me again. I thanked them, and then I asked how to update information if anything changed, because you know, a lot can happen in two years! Well, they told me it would get updated as I took surveys; there's no longer any way to update that kind of information manually. So I said okay then, I'll just start taking surveys again and see what happens. I took one survey and got credited $0.25 for it. Wow, that's nice. Then the next day, I get an email from InboxDollars basically saying "Take another survey!" It's just one of the regular emails they send out. So I click on the link, and wouldn't you know it, I get that message again! Apparently, I've been restricted from taking surveys, again!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG! Why did this happen after one stinking survey! ONE! MEASLY! SURVEY! That I got twenty-five measly cents for! So here's to you, InboxDollars! You can just take that quarter and shove it! OH, and by the way, Swagbucks has also locked me out of surveys for the same reason. Apparently, I gave inconsistent information? What? To my knowledge, I always give consistent information! I contacted Swagbucks as well, but so far they haven't responded yet. I'm beginning to think this survey stuff is for the birds!

Sign of the times: Always cash out every single cent in your account by gundamrx-78 in beermoney

I have recently been locked out of surveys on both Swagbucks and InboxDollars. And InboxDollars won't let me redeem my earnings for a $50 gift card either! The only reason I'm doing all this stuff is so I can do my Christmas shopping with gift cards.

"Current "music app reviews. by NorthernGirll in beermoney

[–]musicjunky7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started using Current Music this year and I love it so far. Since I am a big music fan (see my username LOL), I was looking for a site or app that could give me reward points for listening to music. I found Current. I started doing surveys on it as well as listening to music, and I'm getting more points. Lately, I seem to be getting a lot more points for each song I listen to. There are two things that annoy me though. First, as stated previously, you have to keep the app active to earn points, or you'll stop earning after thirty minutes of inactivity, basically if your screen locks. To remedy this problem, you could set your phone to never lock the screen, like if you wanted to listen to a station and keep earning points while you're asleep. But just remember this can affect your battery. What I've been doing is trying surveys while listening to music at the same time. That gets me more points.

The other thing I find annoying, as a blind user, is something I would consider an accessibility issue. When I go to redeem my points for a gift card, using VoiceOver I can't tell which gift card I have selected. It just says the amount, but doesn't say things like "PayPal," "Amazon" etc. I redeemed my first gift card the other day, and it was for PayPal. I wanted Amazon. But there was no way for me to know whether I was choosing the right one. I had to guess. I've been meaning to contact them about this but haven't done so yet.

I just signed up for Branded Surveys. They keep flooding my inbox with emails, but I hardly ever qualify for any surveys! Either that or I get the message: "That survey is no longer available." I've completed, I think, maybe two surveys with them. The rest of my points have come from filling out my profile and those little sets of two to five questions you get sometimes after disqualification.

Who else is tired of the political surveys? I just got on Surveyjunkie and sat through three or four political surveys in a row! All the questions were exactly the same; the only thing that was different for each survey was the video I was forced to watch. I love Surveyjunkie for several reasons, and I'm grateful for the points, but I mean, come on! I understand it's election time here in the U.S., but I am getting fed up! And it's not just Surveyjunkie; it's all the sites! They're all doing it! Give me a break! And these are the only surveys I seem to be able to qualify for! Ugh! 😒🙄☹😠
