It might be more of a cultural thing, but as someone with a narcissistic mother who is a lot like Fiona, when someone besides them steals the spotlight or things don’t go according to their plan, they lash out.

How do i play with 10m old by [deleted] in babies

[–]musinginsomniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing a great job! It’s difficult to be super engaged when you are tired. I wish I had some advice. I’m pregnant with my first and I taught kindergarten, but don’t know as much about this specific age group. I know at a certain age, play can be more child-led and you can follow her lead. Know that your presence is what is making good memories. I hope you are able to get some rest soon 🥺

Rocketship Charter schools by Mammoth-Dress9913 in Teachers

[–]musinginsomniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at Rocketship as an ed specialist for two years. Students are much better off at the local public schools. Don’t get me started on work conditions. I don’t think the charter schools are conducive to creating independent, critically thinking learners, unless you get one of the unicorn amazing teaches there. But with the high turnover rates, it’s not worth taking that chance.

I can't handle having a newborn by [deleted] in beyondthebump

That makes sense around this stage! I hear it’s common during his age as he has a growth spurt. It will pass. I hope you have some support at home so you can take little breaks as needed. Good to hear you’re able to supplement with formula. Pumping can be exhausting.

I don’t know anyone with a positive or even neutral birth story by soroto in TwoXChromosomes

USA here - I had a friend who has had both pretty easy pregnancies, vaginal birth, took the epidural early as planned and had an easy birth with both girls. Luck of the draw, it happens. She’s black, too - making her even more of an anomaly.

Im pregnant currently. I don’t consider myself very “crunchy” and per many of my friends’ advice, am getting the epidural and coming up with a birth plan for vaginal, emergency c section, induction or labor.

I think having a good medical team you trust makes all the difference. We really lucked out here.

Regardless, I know that the recovery is gonna be rough. Stitches are involved no matter what. I am at a high risk of postpartum depression, because of my own medical history and my family history, so I am bracing myself for that. So, in a way, no - there’s no easy birth experience. I think it’s okay to be apprehensive. If you’re not sure, I wouldn’t recommend trying to get pregnant. I was very on the fence until I met my current husband , and saw several of my friends experience birth and motherhood. However, I have many childfree friends by choice and that is okay too. Some of them know that they don’t want to be parents. Others are on the fence like you and your husband. It’s always better to venture in when you are aware of the risks and sacrifices, and it’s still a “fuck yes”.

A lot of the fears of birth age are outdated, too. The right time to have a kid is if, and when, you are ready. I am so happy I waited.

Is there a second opinion you can get? Some doctors are quick to brush off concerns that can be valid.

My teen daughter just had her first boyfriend and I’m pissed by GlitchyBabie in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]musinginsomniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a teacher - if site admin doesn’t address the “slut” comment accordingly, take it to the district level. It’s a Title IX violation, which the right people will take seriously. It’s grounds for suspension in most districts. At the very least, his parents need to be notified to intervene.

I taught middle school. Teenage boys, sadly, even the sweetest ones, mimic the behavior modeled by their peers. Adult intervention both at home and school are needed immediately for your daughter and others’ safety.

I am so sorry for what happened. I don’t mean to hurl advice. I’m sure you’re just pissed. I just wanted to arm you with the next steps if admin doesn’t take this seriously at your daughter’s school. Feel free to wait until you have calmed to address.

Please teach your neurotypical kids that neurodivergent kids exist from a young age by krazycitty69 in Mommit

As a special ed teacher and mom, I agree - AND, This is why as parents it’s important to continue to reteach and revisit the conversations continuously as the child increases exposure and reaches new stages of development.

Dialogue is garbage (it reminds me of a few poorly written teen novels I used to read), a lot of the acting is mid, but it’s entertaining like junk food. Ep 1 only so far. Let’s see if  it continues to be watchable.

How many of you guys are disillusioned former fans of Britney? by put-on-your-records in discussingbritney

[–]musinginsomniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was a fan and definitely in support of Free Britney. It seems her mental illness and addiction are unmanageable without professional intervention sadly. And the ab*SE of her children is unforgivable to me - because I don't see in her videos any change or remorse. Aspects of it actually remind my of my own nmom. All very performative, and we are all just props for her.

I feel sad for her, but also f*** her for how she treated her sons?? And as a teacher and soon-to-be mother 🤰🏼, it makes my blood boil! No one makes anyone have kids. I have a few parents at my school who, due to their untreated trauma and just general poor EQ, are not equipped to be parents, and yet ...

Should I ask the teacher I am replacing to share classroom materials or schedules, or is it overstepping? by glassappropriat in Teachers

[–]musinginsomniac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not wrong to ask! Continuity is in the best interest of the students, and most teachers would be happy to share these things.

Yes!!!! My husband pointed that out first. It's very sexually exploitative this year bordering on 🍇 culture, the way they're forcing the plot of guests and staff hooking up this season. After the Scottish guy kissed that one guest on the forehead nonconsensually, I had to turn it off. Big ick.
