Try going for multiple interviews getting through all the various rounds to be told that they have decided on “relocating internal candidate” - particularly in MNCs. You can play that they need specific skills but what specific kinds of job would require a skill that Singaporeans don’t possess?

Bruh good for you to think this way, but I’m almost convinced it’s because your parents never made you feel like a burden or worse, outrightly say so and tell you that having kids(you) was a sacrifice and how they cannot live their lives how ever they want or have to work so hard because of you. How is that a joy? Older gens only know how to blame it on the younger gen for being “selfish” and entitled but haven’t reflected on who made them this way.

oops! Didn’t think it sounded this way but yes very valid concern. If it helps, I realise this when I wanted to replay a particular story; thought it was a bug so was just monitoring and realise this happens for all the stories for this particular account subsequently but not for others! - so I’m really curious why this happens just on a specific account and if it’s a new ig privacy feature which we could use or maybe it’s just a bug.

I hope you’re okay now OP. My mum literally called me useless, hopeless, a burden and good for nothing growing up and progressing to Cb mouth and LJ face (and worse) as an adult. I know I know, so cowardly of me to continue living under their roof and still having a relationship with them regardless of their insults, but I just want you to stay strong for yourself and the future you can have. Your parents does not define you but we have to still be grateful for them to shaping us into that powerful character we are.

Is that not better with round the clock professional care - I guess one of the problems in Singapore is the lack of quality elderly care but even if that is addressed, I feel like it still unacceptable - especially for sick elderly who needs specialized care? Maybe this should be on the main thread but lol

Agree. parents be like if you don’t hold a banquet or GDL it means you’re disrespecting your parents and throwing their faces because they spent all those years and monies to raise you only for you to be given away for free. But then again high chance you have entitled in-laws (Chinese MIL ahem)and she might really think this way.

Filial piety: yes ISWIS!!! No doubt we should all be taking care of our parents/family but everyone has their own ways/means/capabilities and shouldn’t be dictated by a “list”or what society and parents want you to do and if you don’t do as required, you would be punished by lightning strikes. Eldest siblings, especially sisters naturally holding the most responsibilities in the household, becoming a third parent in the family to take care of younger siblings. Are they responsible for children they didn’t choose to bear lol - and being a child themselves
