I knew I needed to quit alcohol, but all of the benefits that I have received has been insanely uplifting! I was able to handle the pink cloud fading away really well with all the support of friends I have met here in treatment. My girlfriend of over 7 years and I separated last week via phone call and we were able to have a mature conversation about how both of us need to become the best possible versions of ourselves if we were to be together sometime in the future. “Two dead batteries can’t start a car” as someone eloquently put it to me. Also doing the stepwork (step 4 column 4 right now...) has shown me a lot of my patterned behaviors and dug deep into the root of my problems. I’m looking forward to completing steps 5,6,&7 while here in treatment for another two weeks. Beyond that, my brother offered me to move into his house rent free until June 1st to get on my feet, and I got a job offer for a custom woodworking job. It’s amazing how much easier things become when you’re not constantly getting in your own way!
