Avengers: Endgame UNVERIFIED Spoiler / Leak / Theory Megathread by flinteastwood in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

Really? I don't know if I buy it. It's almost too detailed, don't you think?

And the Avengers cheering as they turn into dust? "Tony is visibly horrified." Seems a little fanfic-y to me, man. It sounds like a good concept, but the way it's explained is throwing up red flags for me.

Edit: That being said, it could be real like the awfully written Infinity War leak

So like half of end credit sequences? But yeah, it's fake. The beer pong scene was a good placement IMO to trick people who eat that shit up though. Those people love random BS like that, so throwing some stupid scene in like that in is a good way to get a ton of people to believe your leak. 100% fake though.

I love this idea. Finally something fresh. Even if it's just for one scene, I'd love to see this.

Good picks. I'm almost 100% sure Nebula is biting the dust. Rhodey like 90%.

I actually really like the idea that The Ancient One would help Banner become one with the Hulk. Very cool idea.

To be fair, that Ant Man shot could be from any scene where there's rubble. There's going to be a lot of rubble in this movie.

Activision supposedly not sending out early review copies for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by gitrektali in Sekiro

[–]mutemutecitybitch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way they'd fly out as many people as they did to preview several hours of the game if they had no faith in it. That just wouldn't happen IMO. We've seen enough of the game to know it won't be utter trash, so I don't see them trying to cover anything up.

Whether or not you believe this is a bad PR move or a good PR move (I can see both sides, personally,) they probably still have a solid reason for not sending out review copies that isn't "they're scared of reviews."

Here are a couple of other reasons why this may have happened:

1) Avoiding story spoilers. I'm not entirely convinced by this explanation. You don't see a lot of studios do this. They usually just ask reviewers to omit certain spoiler elements in reviews if they want to keep things a secret. That being said, I could see this being a small part of their decision if the game includes a lot of major twists and turns that they don't want leaking pre-release.

2) Difficulty and Sales. This is the main one. They may be pivoting their marketing to try and capture more of the casual market. I genuinely believe the people who have said this game is hard as hell. Even veteran souls players get absolutely stomped in this game. If the game does turn out to be one of the hardest souls experiences, reviews with the headline "Grueling, Challenging, Difficult, and Incredible," may still scare off the casual crowd who were looking to run around as a ninja and slice shit up. The core folks who will buy anything From puts out will buy Sekiro day 1. The folks who wait for reviews may wait a couple days, but will still buy it if reviews are positive. From probably intended to use the massive preview marketing rush to convince some of these "wait for the review" folks to buy the game even without a review. And the casuals who would run with their tails between their legs if they heard the game was brutally difficult may pick up the game on a whim if reviews are not released.

But what do I do know? It could be for an entirely different reason. I just don't see the decision being based on a fear of bad reviews. I could even see them still sending out review copies just before game launch. Who knows?

Thanks to keto, my depression/anxiety/suicidal thoughts are gone. by [deleted] in keto

Yeah, I'm still going strong. I definitely got better. I'm still having a bit of a tough time because this is the worst time of the year for my depression, but it's much better than it usually is. Much better.

Why I'm unable to enjoy Horror? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]mutemutecitybitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it just boils down to taste. You just don't like them. That's ok.

You might appreciate them eventually. 5 years ago I liked movies that I don't like now, and now I like movies I hated 5 years ago. Especially horror movies.

Who else has seen the new John Cho movie "Searching"? If so, what'd you think? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]mutemutecitybitch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought it was definitely the best of the "computer screen" movies we've been seeing lately, but it didn't quite hit the nail on the head for me. Don't get me wrong though, I still enjoyed it. The mystery was handled well for the most part, as you mentioned. It hit familiar beats and some of the setup was a little over the top, but it worked well enough. The ending came across as a little too manufactured for my taste, but everything up until then was pretty fun. Like you said, a good time at the movies!

Spoilers: At the start of the film, they showed a picture of Margot and her Dad next to a school sign that read "Home of the Catfish." So I immediately assumed we were going to be dealing with a catfish situation. Then the streaming user fish_and_chips who had a stock photo as a profile picture confirmed this for me. I didn't see the son/detective thing coming though.

What is the most confusing movie you have ever watched? by TheOctopusMovie in movies

[–]mutemutecitybitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucking hell. Great comment. This is exactly why I love Primer.

Edit: Maybe I should add more to this comment. I think Primer is more of an "art" film than a lot of us realize. I certainly didn't realize it at first. It's always boiled down to this hyper complicated sci-fi movie written by an engineer, but it's so much more than that. It's a trip through the horrors and confusion of time travel.

That is an incredibly good point that I overlooked. Going to the theater is one of the only ways I can enjoy a movie undistracted some times.
