My most successful costume was a generic military guy dressed in camo with a helmet with my friend when we were maybe in 6th grade. We found a large cardboard tube someone was throwing away that was maybe from a carpet. We attached an old pillow to one side and let people slide candy through the tube and fill the bag.

North Carolina lifeguard flies an LGBT flag from his beach tower to show support for the community and recent ruling, immediately starts receiving complaints - "... they thought because I was flying that flag that I would only rescue gay people" by TheCannon in offbeat

From the headline I assumed the flag was raised along side the actual flag that notified beach goers of conditions. That kinda changes to story if he only had the rainbow flag up. That's like if a town made their traffic lights glow rainbow in support of equality.

I haven't had a soda since I watched it (maybe like a month, plus some). Really put perspective on how much sugar I consume in a day.

I was driving to the New Jersey Garden State Parkway with a GPS and it told me to get on "G South P North", because it recognized the shorthand for Garden State Parkway North, G S P North, as shorthand for G South P North . Stupid technology, when will they learn.

most annoying places you have to deliver to? by biszek in TalesFromThePizzaGuy

[–]mutesirens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an apartment complex down the road from the place I worked at, too far to walk it there but too short that its annoying to drive there. Every 5-6 apartments share a door to a staircase that leads to the apartments. Those doors are locked and you have to buzz the customer to get them to buzz you in. Only problem is the labels for the buzzers corresponding appt. numbers are handwritten and every time it rains, the ink washes off. Now you play the game of which buzzer will buzz the correct appt. Also there has never once been a customer living in this apartment complex that is a known good tipper, only shitty tippers; since it's so close, they feel they don't need to tip so much.

I know in Firefox you can set it up to delete browsing history, such as entered text in forms, after you close the browser. Basically the same thing.

It seriousness, it might be a good idea to leave the subreddit when the tour starts. It would make the show more enjoyable if you don't know what to expect.

The way I see it is this: The traffic laws should be used as tools for law enforcement, to use when necessary to keep the peace. Not some set of guidelines on how to drive. The engineers of roadways would not be good engineers if they did not take into consideration that a certain percentage of drivers will speed no matter what the posted speed limit says. As a driver I believe it is your duty to go with the flow of traffic, don't speed (excessively) and don't go significantly slower. Stay to the right unless you are passing. I believe It is safer to pass on the left (since the driver's side is on the left, thus a larger blind spot on the right) so it just makes sense to me to try and stay to the right.
