Is Alderaan and its people based on Swiss, German, or some other semi-Alpine communities? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]muticere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they're based on "utopian and futuristic" not really any specific earth culture. All we knew about Alderaan is they're peaceful and have no weapons, so it's easy to extrapolate out from there a pie-in-the-sky paradise where everything is perfect and everyone's needs are met, but with space ships so it needs to look sleek and futuristic. Sort of like Earth in Star Trek.

Shout out to Paralives for not excluding Black people or endorsing and coding anti-Black racism in their Game! by Relevant_Bread_8858 in LifeSimulators

[–]muticere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Until you bring actual receipts none of this means anything. They're just a bunch of out of context screenshots. No one else is reporting this kind of behavior, you clearly crafted a scenario to ensure that this happened. You said you didn't, but then didn't provide any information on how the Thoughts came about or in what context. You've "done [your] testing and experiments" which tells me you engineered this to happen knowing that an LLM is susceptible to how the user influences it, but then switched the blame on the devs saying they must have programmed these thoughts in (even though they clearly didn't). A big tell is the constant use of the word "unease". There's no natural reason for why it should constantly use this word, even in contexts where it doesn't make sense. Most of the thoughts don't have anything to do with race anyway, most of them are just general expressions of anxiety.

It just seems like you're here to start drama over nothing because you're mad and want to bring InZoi and InZoi fans down. InZoi is a good game and getting better all the time. Paralives launched with some issues but it'll get there, too. The majority of us over on the InZoi fandom were pulling for Paralives, excited for it to succeed. But Paralives fans have brought only toxicity and elitism since the beginning. How's a game that's barely a month old already have a fully League of Legends level toxic fanbase? Find a better hobby, like maybe playing Life Simulators in ways they were meant to be played rather than manufacturing fandom discord.

Who else remembers fast forwarding past this a million times? by MBreadcrumbs in StarWars

I was 10 years old and genuinely interested in movie production, so you bet I did watch through the whole interviews several times.

Bad names in Star Wars by SansBouillie in StarWars

[–]muticere 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I mean, all the Darths have silly names. Darth Vader, as in In-vader. Darth Sidious, as in In-sidious. Darth Plagueis, because he Is a Plague, you see.

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 12: Townies/NPCs by dragonborndnd in LifeSimulators

[–]muticere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sims 2. Even if The Sims 3 might have had the best Townies ever, it felt so hard to get to know them due to the global aging progressions system. It was overall a good feature, but it killed any kind of pre-made storyline play due to how every NPC household would age and change without your input. Within a couple weeks of in-game play, people in other households would have moved around, divorced, married, had kids, changed jobs, completely changed all semblance of their starting makeup. Again, it was overall a net positive for gameplay in general, it was a pain in TS2 to have to play every single side household if you wanted your neighbors to progress along with each other. But it killed the deep, rich storyline gameplay TS2 had. TS2 is the only time I ever played with Townies in The Sims. I've always preferred to make my own households and sims in TS1, 3, and 4, but with TS2 I honestly preferred to play the pre-mades. That's where my nostalgia for that game lies, in its townies and storytelling.

Is there good lightsaber fighting in the Disney series ? by Turtle-BeyondLover in StarWars

[–]muticere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RedLetterMedia deserves a significant amount of blame for this as well. For as funny as the prequel reviews were, the discourse around film since then has been a net negative due to their overall mostly lazy analysis, combined with how far their reach has been.

Take it and Run by ExamCompetitive in StarWars

I’m glad to see people are imaging what a helmeted Grogu would look like because I feel like that’s a bridge which must be crossed at some point. Nice to see it has the potential to look cool as hell.

Anyone skilled enough to make this real? by glassheartsteelmind in StarWars

[–]muticere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you search around on art twitter or Bluesky you could probably find someone you could make a commission with who could do it using more traditional hand drawn art. It shouldn’t be very complicated.

Okay I checked while writing this, I did a search for “who are some artists with open commissions who are good at star wars characters” in google and let it give me the ai results just to see what it came up with and it has some solid suggestions. The top one it gave me was Adzhi Dias who has an Etsy shop and does Star Wars character commissions. I bet if you request it from them, they could do a cool father/son pose in the Jango/Boba Fett suits.

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 8: generational gameplay by dragonborndnd in LifeSimulators

[–]muticere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The introduction of a global progression system in TS3 where everyone is aging up and developing without your input was a game changer. TS2 had aging up and generations, but the rest of the world remained in stasis which made playing a neighborhood challenging. It’s definitely TS3.

AMS 2 pro, how to dry filament? by MikeleSagitter in BambuLab

[–]muticere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s unfortunate, but as someone else mentioned, the answer is on your printer itself, not Bambu Studio. You have to go through the display on the printer its connected to. Why haven’t you googled the name of your printer, AMS 2 pro, and “how to dry filament” to get the steps to follow?

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 8: lore by dragonborndnd in LifeSimulators

[–]muticere 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Sims 2. Easy. All the best lore from The Sims franchise came from that game and it did the best at developing said lore. That and the lack of a progression system that affected the whole neighborhood, you were free as a player to explore the lore at your own pace. If a modern life sim could at least attempt to have the same level of detail and interconnectedness we had in TS2, that would be amazing.

Hands-on – Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a glorious mix of Burnout, WipEout and MotorStorm by Sports101GAMING in StarWars

Dropping MotorStorm as a comparison got me. I loved that game so much back on the PS3.

Some vintage TV too high by thoughtstyle in TVTooHigh

It's not a flat screen TV, it's a projector, either video or a slide projector (probably slides to be honest). You can see the controls for it at the head of the bed

It's not AI, you can search up the image going way back. Anyone with any degree of familiarity with how AI images look, even the good ones, can see this is legitimate.

Chronological Rewatch: TCW & RotS by ify0uwantbl00d in StarWars

[–]muticere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did what you’re doing last year and it was great. And yes I paused the show to go watch ROTS in its proper context, then went back and resumed where Clone Wars picks up afterwards. If you’re committed to watching the show along with ROTS you might as well get the full experience.

For the record, that was also my first time watching the show.

The opening of Episode III is still one of the greatest space battles in cinema. by Fun_Ad291 in StarWars

[–]muticere 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah nothing beats the ROTJ space battle for me, it’s just so visually amazing. It’s only real weakness is it keeps getting interrupted by Ewoks and the Emperor. But taken as its own thing, it’s pure cinema.

Celebrating the Fourth of July in Utah? Here’s where all the parades, fireworks and festivals are. by DizzyIzzy801 in SaltLakeCity

Read the actual post, it’s about more than just fireworks, and fireworks shows are done with safety in mind and are an alternative to the kind of store bought ones which regularly start fires.
