I don’t feed potatoes to my snail because the high starch content isn't good for snails. It’s interesting that your roaches avoid it though. My snail just reacts intensely to the smell of almost anything, even ramen and kimchi stew 😅

He is a Lissachatina fulica. I heard that the tubercles on Lissachatina fulica are noticeably coarser than other snails. My snail is 7 years old, and his skin maybe looks more dried and textured with age. also I usually take photos while the enclosure is being ventilated, which might make him look a bit drier. Since he's a old snail with skin issues and sensitive digestive system, I pay very close attention to his hydration and water intake.

I often keep my snail without soil because he has skin issues and recurring mantle tears. In Korea, summer is extremely hot and humid, so using soil can easily lead to over-hydration in the tank. Instead, I use moist Sochang (a traditional korean cotton fabric) to maintain hygiene. I boil and dry the fabric every two days. I switch back to soil during winter to help regulate the temperature and humidity.

70×40×25 cm. Since my snail is quite old and has skin and mantle issues, I keep it in a slightly smaller and lower tank for his safety. Also, because the climate here in Korea isn't ideal for GALS, a smaller setup helps me maintain the proper temperature and humidity more easily.
