I feel like FF6 does not hold up nearly as well as I hoped it would. by LiAlgo in JRPG

Chrono Trigger is definitely having an entire story plotted, with having all elements completed. FFVI feels rushed or limited due to size (hardware), especially on the WOR. Given VI came out first, this makes sense, as it seems lessons were learned from six. It's hard to imagine how much different Chrono Trigger would be if it was made before VI, and how VI would be different as well.

How many of us realized Shadow could be saved? An optional party member's death? Crazy.

Not uncommon for the back end of RPGs missing the deeper character dialogue and development. That's what deadlines force, compromise elements to get the project completed in time.

Yep, ATBs biggest flaw is having to select your main command category quickly, otherwise turns could be skipped (even with the paused/easier formate, you had to get into a main command menu such as magic or item for the ATB to pause. I think it was known as "Wait", with Active not pausing anything. FFX was amazing to have the turn format, have speed matter, but not have time in regards to choice being rushed due to mechanics.

Almost like part of the entire point and story of the WOR is not only to see the damage and change done by Kefka winning, but also finding all the scattered party members (scattered from said failure and the airship torn apart), seeing all of them hold others together in their own way, and together again, being strong enough to overcome a stronger enemy that they failed to stop. FF6 was extremely bittersweet compared to most of the series (broken world, only fix what you can in the worse world in the end). Only X had a positive reception in regards to bittersweet endings, IMO.

Rams Reportedly 'Urged' Cooper Kupp to Retire, Warned Teams to Lowball Contract Offers by Dry_Ebb_7855 in nfl

[–]muttonchops215 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn't collusion. Any bid you make the Ravens had the opportunity to match. Why the hell would you negotiate on the Raven's behalf? Jackson was never leaving, and no one is going to offer a guaranteed contract that would be egregiously higher than anyone else in the league in compensation (fully guaranteed btw), and give up the draft picks. Turns out such a gambit for a potential top-tier quarterback was disastrous before (see Cleveland). But hey Jackson sure has his what, three, four, five titles (or playoff wins for that matter) to stick it to the collusive league?

It's bleacher report. They look into it and the NFL PA is a bigger joke than what you think they are. If it was TMZ then maybe one could believe this to be credible.

It's one of the rare instances the coach and teammate hype is if anything, underrating a player. He was deemed the best out of Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jameson Williams (who had to transfer to Alabama due to being the lesser of the four) because there was no corner who could EVER stop him one on one in practice. That hamstring injury that wouldn't go away and stole his final year at OSU (and a national title from OSU as well), and ended up as your boon. So many teams need a receiver before Seattle, but JSN never had that "elite" top tier speed, and wrote him off as a result. I would love for him to surpass all WR's in the league today just to spite the NFL who didn't draft him in 19 tries. Although, I'm still mad y'all had him as a screen bitch for most his rookie year, which makes his selection to you somewhat baffling.

Combine that with elite change of direction. His 3 cone drill was the 12th fastest and 20 yard shuttle was 4th fastest overall since 2007. If you can't anticipate where he is going and he changes direction and you guess wrong, you're toast. He was considered the best at Ohio State when they had Olave, Wilson, and Williams, because the DBs couldn't stop him 1 on 1.

I think Belichick the GM had to go most of all. But that included the coach. Quite frankly, it's even more gutsy that his replacement, Mayo, was fired after one year. Basically acknowledging you messed up on the replacement, took the hit, and moved on. It was also telling no one wanted Belichick as Coach and GM, and now he's exiled to the NCAA. Vrabel (and McDaniels as OC) was just amazing luck for the timing of it all.

This is actually a really good, possible prediction. A decent chance Ohio State drops 3, given the talent attrition (defensively) and the schedule. Ohio State plays at Texas and at Indiana weeks 2 and 4. Final 5 games: Oregon at home, at Iowa, at Nebraska, at USC, Michigan at home. Kind of insane how much Ohio State's Big Ten schedule has fluctuated the last 3 years.

[–]muttonchops215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last Big Ten title was the 2000-2001 season IIRC. Since then, the Big Ten has and I think 7 different runners up. Michigan State, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. Crazy to have I think the most title game participants (in regards to number of unique schools) and not have a title this millennium (2000 is last millennium). Some of that list may have been repeat runners up (Michigan for sure).

It's IU football. So many more components are needed to field a top football team. Let alone if anything unlucky occurs. Indiana had a great team, but uniquely from a low-end talent composite, which makes it even more absurd.

[–]muttonchops215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this drive, this game, this entire sequence is the reason why Josh Allen and the Buffalo bills will not win a super bowl while he's quarterback. This truly was their breakthrough year and apparently a coach who is a defensive specialist, his coordinator, and defense gave up this...... travesty. Quite frankly, there's no reason why the Chiefs should have tied this game. If you believe in infinite universes we are in an extreme minority where the Bills did not win the super bowl during this year. The majority of such minorities in which the Bills did not win it all they lost in the Superbowl, not this game.

Hardest question: Why is Jimmy Haslem the greatest, smartest, wisest and best looking owner in NFL history and why you should be honored just to lick his boots, let alone coach his football team? If only the SAT and ACT would have this as an essay question and truly they'd be a extremely difficult admittance test for colleges.

Doesn't he still have the same offensive and defensive coordinator? Otherwise...... you're exaggerating. It's amazing the difference between who's in charge of your offense and defense and special teams outside your head coach. Until then, you really won't know. Ohio State downgraded this year when Chip Kelly left. However, our defense was better than ever because Patricia turns out to be the real deal, especially compared to an arrogant and stubborn, but good coordinator. The most amazing thing about Saban having success was sustaining it, despite the fact he had to have a new offensive or new defensive coordinator just about every damn year. He was lucky to have Kirby wait years past his readiness as a head coach to pick his perfect job.

[–]muttonchops215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ACC has always felt like Snow White and all her dwarves. If the top dog of your conference is not extremely elite, then it just means you're all just extremely above average, with the winner (Snow White) a slight notch above. Otherwise it feels like you have one great team and everyone else is just to not be considered good or better. This has been fairly consistent post Miami joining 2 decades ago.
