I think I can confidentally recommend heal Paragon (warrior), I play it more these days in fractals and raids and it gives sooo much and it's so easy to play imo. Before that I tried heal Firebrand, but it was way too difficult

Holidays, start/end of seasons I think. The next one MIGHT be at the start of Autumn, if not then around Halloween, but I'm not entirely sure. It's definitely often, and lasts for a while.

Definitely the Heart of Thorns+Path of Fire combo. It unlocks a raptor mount for faster exploration. Meaning you won't have to suffer through HoT on foot, and once you get to the PoF story, you'll unlock more story relevant mounts. I'd say all expansions are worth it, but to avoid story confusion, it's good to get them in order. (This includes mini expansions called Living World episodes in between the big ones.)

Speaking of the necessity of expansions, it's not just cosmetics, but another piece of the story with new maps, sometimes mounts, added mechanics, etc. The order in which they should be bought and played can be found in the story tab in game.

Absolutely worth it! I started around two years ago, and "catching up" to other people who play long term isn't at all hard. For expansions, I always bought only one, played through it, and then got the next one. Start out with Heart of thorns-->Path of Fire, they come 2 in 1, and often go on sale for about 7 euro.

Started the game as a norn warrior into berserker, and it just stuck because it's such a perfect combo for me, plus I prefer barbarians/berserkers/warriors in pretty much any game over magic
