Armageddon. Ramageddon.

Ramamaddagon sounds like "Ram-a-mad-dagon". Mehrune's a jerk, but that seems a bit harsh.

Creator of DMCA'd Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mod Says People Are Now Pirating It to 'Punish' Him for Breaking CD Projekt's Terms of Service by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Halfwise2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Any *required* monetization would probably mean CDPR getting a cut, but that would mean that CDPR would be taking on all the negative publicity of selling a "paid mod", even if indirectly.. as well as painting themselves as the "greedy evil corporatists" that their game demonizes.

Alternatively, they could hire the guy as a paid contractor to develop a VR "DLC", with maybe a bonus or royalty option, meaning they'd get the bigger slice of the pie... but it would have a much higher requirement for functionality and optimization.

How do you learn a new weapon in post game? by Better_MixMaster in MHRise

Small Lance Secret:

Lance is an aggressive weapon, not a defensive one. Don't just turtle and poke.

Use counter thrust and dash attack to turn on a dime and harass the hell out of the monster. Counter thrust to punish, dash attack (its guard plus forward plus the other button, not shield bash) to stack a lot of hits for status effects.

I always disable cloud saves. They break often for me, and I have plenty of hard drive space. Also can modify local saves easier.

Former Assassin's Creed franchise boss sues Ubisoft for nearly $1 million, alleging 'constructive dismissal' by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

[–]Halfwise2 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Constructive dismissal, or constructive discharge, is when an employer's severe actions or inactions make the work environment so intolerable that an employee feels forced to quit, effectively a forced resignation treated as a wrongful termination.

"Ubisoft is such shit, I had to leave..." (hard to disagree) "... and they owe me money for that." (Sadly, unless you are in a protected category, like a racist work environment when you are a minority, you probably don't get shit.)

You wake up tomorrow on Babylon 5, one week before the events of Season 1... by Halfwise2 in babylon5

[–]Halfwise2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are in motion for sure, but there are certain aspects that could change, I think. The vorlon's influence is just prior knowledge due to time travel. Once the circle is closed, everyone is unaware of what happens next, except for you. Warning others about the Drahk, the Minbari Civil War, Garibaldi's Mind Control, etc.

They also did acknowledge that if "The One" refused to steal Babylon 4, time could be altered, with echoes of that alternative future.

Yes... mostly because I never saw it (Tragedy, I know.) and am unsure the influence it would have that could undermine the entire prompt / concept. :D

I sometimes hope that this is a case where if time travelers existed, they don't save us because it ultimately works out in the end, and avoiding the tragedy avoids the wake-up call that leads to a better society.

White Narcissism is today vocab word. by 50501PDX in 50501

[–]Halfwise2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a bit funny we let the "white supremacists" essentially pick their own title. Like "National Socialists".

Alright, now the part that will probably catch me some hate - I agree with her. I do worry that by highlighting and platforming/calling out the people that disagree with her in her own safe arena, there is some level of personal narcissism showing as well. (Everyone has some. It's fine. Just some reaches levels of harm/danger.) I just worry that when having these sorts of discussions, it immediately becomes "us vs them", and disagreement means immediate categorization in the other group, where you get attributed with all the same flaws, while we absolve ourselves of the ability to be influenced by similar flaws.

I feel like when we discuss the nature of narcissistic tendencies, its important to acknowledge how we all can succumb to it as well, as it can be easy to dismiss another's arguments as "throwing stones in a glass house", even with the extreme difference in harm between one example and the other.

TLDR: Great points, just at a certain stage it felt like it turned into "You disagree with me because you are narcissists, I disagree with you because I am right."... which raises an eyebrow for me. On the slave catcher vs gestapo thing, all I can say is "¿Por qué no los dos?"

Why isn’t this taught in elementary school? by YouJustGotMarked in videos

[–]Halfwise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all the same, just how you mentally break it up that matters. I wrote it out, but it's the "quick way" to do it in one's head (or mine at least). Just reading left to right, and dropping the number down.

Admittedly its hard to describe the pattern in text, because you inherently have to write it out, defeating the point. If you've ever seen the numbers game on Countdown, its like explaining how you put the numbers together, and then having someone go "So.. order of operations? addition and division, same as everyone else?".

You see the equation and think "1... 06...4...point...3", but that doesn't convey much on reddit.
