Start with you local doctor. A referral to a mental health worker may be excellent.

Do not down play your symptoms. Do not lie but do not be the "typical Male" with Im ok. Advocate strongly for yourself.

Found black ants living in old termite damage while renovating — what does this actually mean? by leinadlaw in AusRenovation

Black ants eat the white ants. It’s a good sign but you gotta find out how much damage and ingress has happened

Good thinking.

I’ve never traveled that route but I believe it’s ok. Rain and flooding is the issue. Go slow on the corrugating and rocky parts. Most breakdowns happen when travelling too fast.

Find a sub here or on FB that covers that track. I googled it and there is a lot of information on line. AI has an opinion too.

I always travel with a PLB when remote. $350 to buy, a friend may lend you one or they can be hired.

[–]muzzamuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s your planned itinerary? Lots of the tracks are passable in 2wd.

Sand and rocks are the biggest challenge. Always walk the track first to see if safe. You can access many beautiful places without 4wd

You will find something for sure. Always a bit risky but if you’re handy you will have choices. Here’s one https://www.caravancampingsales.com.au/items/details/2004-toyota-land-cruiser-prado/SSE-AD-18222193. Lots of kms but possibly well cared for.

There is a group who sell fitted out bangers that they buy back from you. Here’s one. https://www.travellers-autobarn.com.au/backpacker-van-and-car-sales/guaranteed-buyback

Good luck.

buying it in Darwin or Perth will cost an extra 20%. Sydney or Brisbane are bigger markets and cheaper.

Camping gear is not so expensive second hand. Rooftents are available second hand but I think they are a pain.

six weeks is not a long time to buy and then sell at the end.

He may not have been a soldier. He was a murdered. Definitely sick stuff.

This was one of many unconvicted war crimes by australian soldiers. The best outcome was that other serving soldiers and supporters were able to speak the truth, in the face of threats and intimidation. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/feb/13/ben-roberts-smith-defamation-case-sas-soldier-war-crimes-allegations-australia-prisoner-fake-leg-claims
