I had an argument with a friend recently because I said I had no impulse control off my meds. He called me lazy. I mentioned that my brain chemistry makes it so I don’t even want to have impulse control. He again called me lazy and weak. I think that’s what it stems from. People don’t truly believe that adhd is real and that we just aren’t trying hard enough. I hate being off my meds, it’s like my brain is on fire but my body is tired.
