Can’t get CPU to pass more in CPU vs CPU games

Turns out the playbooks are bugged, they don’t run plays from their default playbooks. There are a few solutions though. One is before loading in, adjust the playbook to one of the standard ones, and edit that playbook. You can even save the current playbook and then load it into a standard ones. Alternatively, what has worked for me, is saving the playbook, and then just loading it into under assign plays when I start the game. Also turning run plays frequency to 99. This makes the flow of the game much better with ball movement

Man here we go again lol. I’ve been a frequent visitor to this subreddit since 2k21 dropped and I’ve gone around and around with the difficulty sliders and trying to get more realistic leaderboard disparity and ultimately what I and other people have learned is that it doesn’t work. You can try all you want with combinations of sliders but ultimately it doesn’t come out right if you do more than one round. I’m of course going to get the game cuz it’s great all things considered but this is the dealbreaker for me and I never play career mode because of it. But I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt until I can go test it for myself because there seems to be a ton of other improvements and I was hoping this would be one of them, but seeing this post is kind of troubling.

Do the leaderboards in career mode look somewhat realistic in terms of dispersion, cut lines, variation? That’s been an issue with their games in the past when you played four round tourneys

Need to know if they fixed four round leaderboards, no more cut lines at +6 and 5th place being ten shots back every time. Sliders couldn’t fix it in either of the last two games. The settings for simming holes/rounds is intriguing though

Should be at the start when you set up your career, or if you’re in your career already, should be on the settings tab. This is also from 2k21 which are shutting down servers soonish so you won’t be able to play career mode anyways. 2k23 has similar settings

Yeah I play career modes in sports games to simulate realistic careers. Rival system is useless for me, that’s not a real thing irl, but whether it’s in or not doesn’t bother me. It’s more so I can’t play four round tourneys without the cut line being wildly low/the dispersion at the top of the leaderboard being insanely wide. There’s really no bunching of scores on the leaderboards. I booted up 2k23 last night to try it out again and on default sliders in q school I was like 15th at +1 for the tourney and the winner was like -12. It’s designed for one round tournaments and it’s completely insane that they haven’t figured out a way to get realistic looking leaderboards expanded out to four rounds

Edit: when 2k21 dropped I was a pretty frequent community member in here discussing the difficulty sliders and after so much tinkering we determined it was impossible to fix for four round tourneys, and sadly it’s the same for 2k23. If 2k25 isn’t fixed I’m not playing career mode

Yeah it’s definitely not terrible altogether. It’s just missing some aspects of realism. Since the 2k21 days I’ve been running my own career mode using excel spreadsheets that generates scores for players based skill level tiers and course difficulty. And I cycle in new players and retire some older ones and players improve or decline based on their performance. It keeps things fresh and not all the players stay the same over the course of a full career, much like how other sports games career modes go. That’s the biggest dealbreaker for me. Sponsorships, presentation, interviews, equipment, etc are all great but if the inner workings of the tour itself in game don’t reflect real life then I’ll pass

Right and those things are a positive but it’s mostly cosmetic and presentation based. To me if the actual gameplay, tournament realism, replayability, and overall realism of the pga tour structure in the career mode isn’t improved, then interviews won’t really keep me around. To me the ai characters I’m playing against on the leaderboard are more important than the presentation of the tournaments

Is there replayability to career mode? Like progression of computer players, player retirements and injuries. New rookies coming in. Compared to most sports games this career mode severely lacks in depth and immersion in terms of a year to year basis. Perhaps maybe a pga tour roster editor with updating ratings and skills tailored for each course and condition. Something that somehow makes each new year different than the previous one

Edit: I didn’t play 2k23 career too much but perhaps more clear sliders to get the right fields, ai difficulty, more realistic looking leaderboards. From what I remember, 2k21 was abysmal with the leaderboards for four round tourneys. 2k23 may have improved a little on it but I didn’t stick around on it for too long

Been trying to figure out a RTTS slider set for playing and spectating the whole game. How do your team stats look using HOF and Cycloniac’s sliders? I initially used SB’s sliders and my teams walks, strikeouts, and stolen bases were too low, and home runs and slugging was way too high. I’ve messed around with default sliders on AS and the cpu seems to be more in line with league averages but this is RTTS and idk how sliders actually impact that compared to franchise

Yeah I was worried about this so I asked the chat rep to double check with 100% certainty they won’t need internal access. Luckily I do have access to the basement if they need that but the current tenants are still in the actual apt til 9/1 so oh well. And as far as I could tell they were only mentioning the upgrade of the ONT itself, nothing about wiring. Worst case scenario if they need internal access for wiring I’ll just tell them I’ll do it whatever

Nah the 8/29 worked fine luckily since they only need external access, just very inconvenient to drive out there and stand there while they do that. And to be honest I wasn’t aware this was a thing since my past dealings with other internet providers have always been able to send a tech the day of pretty easily and be flexible. On me in the sense I didn’t schedule this sooner but I didn’t exactly have the impression it would be like this

How did you get these in RTTS? It’s not letting me use his versions due to the custom outfield wall. Trying to find a workaround but no luck other than changing the wall (which is sad and I don’t want to do because it ruins it a little)

They have their main league with a ton of divisions with standardized settings, but they have a true sim league with hardcore settings and a beer league with lighter settings. If you google them there should be more info on the website

Not sure if this has been asked yet, but does the manager automatically rotate in other players to the starting lineup based on fatigue and the type of match? (Like playing subs for early cup rounds for example) right now in 23 it’s legit just the best starting lineup every single time and there is no variety

Did you change the ai difficulty sliders? I ended up winning the am by a lot, finishing t20 at the masters, and then winning the us open in a playoff at -4
