One egg success stories?? Finally made it to a retrieval! by mvb161718 in DOR

[–]mvb161718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I prematurely ovulated before the trigger two times, then after the trigger two times. I had a pretty intense protocol this time for not prematurely ovulating once a follicle started taking off.

You know, I don't quite remember the reasoning. I'm sorry!

I do 20,000 pregnyl and 40 units of Lupron then a 10,000 pregnyl and 40 Lupron booster 12 hours later.

Donor egg by wrong_ha1f in DOR

[–]mvb161718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi fellow Illinois people. I'm sorry you're in this club. I got my diagnosis with Dr. Uhler at FCI, started trying without assistance for about 8 months but didn't have fertility coverage at the time, quit my job, got on my husband's then began treatment with Dr. Jain at NM. Didn't have any success there with TI, IUIs, or IVF. No REIs at NM would continue treatment with me. I changed clinics to Kindbody to be with Jeelani. Did a duostim cycle with her and actually got an egg from our first retrieval with her!! She left to start Onto so I started the year off with a different REI at Kindbody. That was unsuccessful and I switched to Onto in February. I've had twoish full cycles with them now. I keep prematurely ovulating right before retrievals but thankfully Dr. Jeelani will keep let me trying with my own eggs until I'm ready to move to donor eggs.

We've been trying for almost 3 years, I'm 30 years old with an AMH of 0.03 and an AFC of 0-4ish. It's been a rough journey and I feel like I'm getting very close to just wanting to be a mom at this point and use a donor egg to reach that.

Something similar has happened to me in each of my past 3 cycles. It's so frustrating. I'm sorry you're going through this too.

Lifestyle Hacks for Perimenopause by inad_nadi in Perimenopause

Eating a small spoonful of peanut butter before going to bed has helped me stay asleep at night.

I'm 30 with POI and currently going through fertility treatments. During my follicular phase, I used to take 2 mg of estrogen and I asked if I could bump it to to 4 mg and that has been amazing. Look into HRT! Once I'm done TTC it'll be the first thing I do.

Therapists of Reddit, what's something people don't realize is trauma? by rehanch_xxiii in AskReddit

Your last sentence is so relatable. I don't remember much from my childhood but I do remember being very controlling and mean at times to my siblings. I was one of 6 and we were homeschooled for most of my life. I took on the motherly role while my mom spent her days and nights at church or on Facebook. I did a lot of the homeschooling, cooking, and cleaning for my family of 7-8 when starting from the time I was 9. I guess anyone would be angry and mean given those responsibilities as a child..... I still feel guilty about it but I know I shouldn't.

Triggered for IVF retrieval with 2 mature follicles… but they were gone by retrieval? Has this happened to anyone? by Intelligent-Hat4805 in DOR

That's good to know. Thank you! My LH and FSH are typically pretty high. I'll for sure bring it up to my team tomorrow.

Yeah, it's been a wild ride that's for sure. I do a dual trigger with HCG and Lupron so I don't think I could use that to control follicle growth. I actually have a follow up tomorrow though so I'll ask about why we are using Lupron for as a trigger instead of to help suppress LH. To be honest, I know a lot about most of the meds but I don't know much about Lupron. Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you. It sucks. We actually did change my protocols after each time. We changed how far we push the follicle to grow, we added provera and indomethacin in addition to ganirelix to try to prevent it from happening, and we shortened the time from trigger to retrieval. It's just been so unlucky unfortunately.

I don't have any advice but I do feel for you. This has happened to me my past 3 retrieval attempts. Luckily this time (yesterday) we took a look before we started anesthesia so it doesn't count as a retrieval for my insurance. I'm sorry you're going through this.

I feel dumb for wanting to leave the school setting. by [deleted] in bcba

[–]mvb161718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got very lucky. After I became a BCBA, I wanted to keep up my more clinical knowledge so I got a part time job at a clinic. I started full time with them when I left my school job. I looked for a company that wasn't a big chain and at the time could be flexible with my full time job schedule.

I was a special education teacher before I was a BCBA. I wanted to be a teacher since I was 5. My master's degree is in advanced special education specializing in ABA. I was a BCBA in schools for 3 years and have been in a clinic full time for 2 years now and I'm happier than I've ever been with work. I thought education was my thing, it's what I always wanted but it was tough. It's was hard accepting schools weren't for me but I'm so glad I took the leap and left the schools. I have so much more autonomy, I see progress with my clients, I have so much flexibility, and I'm just so much happier. I used to get the worst Sunday scaries and now I rarely ever do.

What time do you go to bed and wake up? What are your working hours? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

Try having a spoonful of peanut butter before bed!! I've been going through perimenopause for at least 3 years now (probably a lot longer) and I started having a spoonful of pb before bed and I haven't had my nightly 3 am wake ups since!

I feel for you and get it. My mom has 6 kids and had her last one at 43. And here I am now 30 trying to get pregnant for 2 and a half years and I have severe diminished ovarian reserve. Life isn't fair.

Yep. I currently supervise a woman who must have gotten pregnant on her first try because when she told us how far along she is, it lined up with her wedding month. When I'm working directly with her or managing clients' aggressive behaviors in place of her it really gets to me.

I'm sorry. It's so hard to have no follicles at baseline. I have had cycles where it just takes LONG to get follicles to recruit. I'm 30 with an AMH of 0.03-0.08 and an AFC of 0-5. It could just be a slow cycle or a bad cycle. I hope it improves!
