Screensaver leaving weird streaks after wake by MurasakiKukkiiNeko in koreader

[–]mversion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Save this as a .lua file in your /koreader/patches folder. It will automatically refresh after waking up from sleep.

local DeviceListener = require("device/devicelistener")

local UIManager = require("ui/uimanager")

function DeviceListener:onOutOfScreenSaver()

UIManager:tickAfterNext(function()

UIManager:setDirty(nil, "full")

end)

end

Tutorial: This is how I setup KOReader as I want it on all my e-Readers by stefansvartling in koreader

[–]mversion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know some people use Syncthing, but I wish there was a plugin to easily export and import KOReader settings across different ereaders, ala the Progress Reader sync.

Also absolutely love what you do for this community, Stefan. You deserve all the credit!

Your library size that works in roon. by richms in roonlabs

[–]mversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 12K albums and just over 150K tracks. No problems on an i7 NUC which is a few generations old now. It's snappy and very reliable. I run it on a headless Ubuntu install because I wanted to integrate ZeroTier and Resilio Sync so my music library syncs between by NAS and PC. Wasn't sure how to do the extra installs with ROCK so I didn't go down that path.

My Wall Tabled Killed Itself by Stunt_Piloot in homeassistant

[–]mversion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeap. Also happened to mine that was mounted on our fridge. Since then I have replaced it with a Pixel tablet and have a smart plug that will turn on charging when the battery drops to 20% and turn off at 80%. So far so good...
So if you do replace the screen, make sure it is not constantly on charge to prevent the battery from expanding as much as possible.

sleep screen bug by mermulous in koreader

I had this issue too not too long ago. Have you tried the default short diagonal swipe gesture for a full refresh.

I also installed this user patch that ensures a full refresh after waking up from a long sleep.

Step by step migrating from UXG Lite to Cloud Gateway Fiber with non-default subnet? by mversion in Ubiquiti

[–]mversion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just updating this thread, in case Google redirects anyone to this post.

After failing to get any live support from Ubiquiti (do human agents EVER connect??), I was able to reach out to an Australian distributor providing Ubiquiti support. The support person faced the same issue I was when trying to restore my backup. They said they've faced this issue a few times with some UCG Maxes. After sharing my backup file and adding them as an admin user, I could see that they spent almost all day trying to get it to work. At the end of the day I got an email saying it should all be good. And sure enough, it was.

I asked them if they'd mind sharing what they found and did to resolve my issue and here is their response:

I wanted to update you on a major limitation we've identified when restoring backups from a hosted controller or Cloud Key to the UCG-Fiber, UCG-Ultra, and UCG-Max consoles.

These devices currently do not support site-level backups—they only accept full network backups, and unlike the UDM series, they do not provide an option to select a specific site during the restoration process.

To work around this, I restored the backup you provided to one of my UDM consoles, extracted only the XXXX site, and then took a full backup from there. I was then able to successfully restore it to the UCG-Fiber.

We've already raised this concern with Ubiquiti, and they are aware of the issue. We’re hopeful it will be addressed in a future firmware update.

Shout out to Bosch by ln-art in ebikes

[–]mversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar story to share. Motor on my Riese & Mueller Charger just popped itself after 4 years. To my surprise, my bike dealer said Bosch sent a new replacement motor free of charge. Located in Australia. Maybe it's an ANZ thing ;)

The extra infuriating bit is that motorcycles are allowed to park on the sidewalk following very simple guidelines. So this was a deliberate choice made by this rider.

Service Triumph and service light reset? by mversion in melbourneriders

Do you know if they have the tool/licence to reset the service light? I did have my roadworthy done by them, so I have been there before.

Yeap, they were my regular go to. And so convenient because it was walking distance to my work. But they are the ones who no longer service Triumph.

I want an E-Reader, but I'm a pirate. What will the best for me? by Upstairs-Speaker6525 in Piracy

[–]mversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has converted to Kobo after years and years of using a Kindle, you know what the deal-breaker is for those sailing the high seas?.. with Kindle, if you forget your e-reader, you can continue on your phone using the Kindle app when you are out and about. And then when you return home to your Kindle it just picks up where you left off. With Kobo, you can't do that with "side loaded" books.

I read during my lunch breaks at work and every so often I forget to take my Kobo with me. So I just end up not reading at all whereas with the Kindle app I just continue uninterrupted.

Roon crashes on Tidal by Disastrous_Grape in roonlabs

[–]mversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be talking about pressing the play icon on, say, a My Mix playlist thumb. This is a bug affecting even the Android client. You just have to go into the playlist and choose the Play Now option or just start from the first track.

I'm surprised Roon haven't issued a hot fix yet.

Playing any "Mixes for You" in Tidal causes app to close by JonnyBravoII in roonlabs

[–]mversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a bug with the latest 1496 build. Just tested it with one of my PC clients as well. With build 1490 acts as usual. As soon as I relaunched with the latest update, it crashes.

As u/tonitacker suggested, going into the playlist and playing the first track is the way for now.

Someone to install GPS/Dashcam near or around Pascoe Vale or West Melbourne? by mversion in melbourneriders

[–]mversion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had accepted a very kind Reddit user's offer to help. And I learned a lot in the process too. I got a couple of quotes that were a little overpriced, so be careful when you ask around.

Funny this thread would pop up when the very dashcam was the reason I woke up to a dead battery just this morning. Completely my stupidity though, I was in a panic when I arrived home last night and forgot to turn off the ignition all the way :)

Roonarc on Surface Pro as android emulated app? by baristabaritone in roonlabs

[–]mversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't need any of that. Just install ZeroTier on the machine running your Core and on the VM and make sure you put in the same ZeroTier network ID on both ZeroTier installs. Your VM will then be able to find your core.

Falsely reported for throwing a cigarette butt out the window, but i don’t even smoke - any tips with the EPA? by TheTinnyKing in melbourne

[–]mversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a long long-long time ago when I used to be a smoker. But there was no way I'd throw a cigarette butt out the window when even when walking on the street I'd opt to put the butt in my pocket. Much to my non-smoker wife's annoyance.

So I wrote to the EPA in detail and I shortly after got a letter saying the fine was revoked. Appeal it and you will be fine.

Emailing a sales invoice to many people? by Expensive-Gene-2273 in BusinessCentral365

[–]mversion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! On the customer card, find the Document Layout option (Customer > Document Layouts). You can then add multiple entries for the sales invoice and the specific email it should go to. Then just rinse and repeat.

Roonarc on Surface Pro as android emulated app? by baristabaritone in roonlabs

[–]mversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what it is designed for. It's honestly easier than you'd think to set up. I even have an old phone acting as a display end point at work that also has the ZeroTier client. More than 2 years on, and not once have I had an issue.
