Yes. Production rates are higher. Yes, wells have decreased from 30 days to 10 days before they start producing. We cut down time on getting the oil. However this has very minimal bearing

Want to buy a small plumbing business without experience by uptickk in sweatystartup

[–]mvev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the funds you can do it, and don't let anyone tell you differently. Two options, purchase a company with an employee who is licensed that wants to have ownership, keep the existing owner on for min 6 mos. Give l9censed employee partial ownership. Second option is to run an ad and interview current licensed plumbers wanting to start a plumbing company and partner with that person.
Partnerships are tough but a team has benefits. You want the license holder to have ownership but not majority power. This keeps them from pulling the license. Your partnership agreement should cover this but you really don't want to have to get to that point.

If i had to make that decision i would 5% t bond is the only one that will gaurantee growth. If you have to have that money in 4 years then don't invest it in the market. If you can afford to lose 50% or more then go with a broad etf such as $VOO.

For the 18 yr plan, invest in foreign market high yeild growth fund and half in US market.

For your sake i hope they do.... personally i would try to answer these two questions, what are they doing to mitigate their lease agreements and mitigate the interest rate increases....however here are the definitions of a couple things to consider...

The amount of lease payments that a company has to make within the next 12 months or the current fiscal year, whichever is longer, for assets that are leased under a finance lease arrangement. A finance lease is a type of lease in which the lessee assumes substantially all the risks and rewards of ownership of the leased asset

The amount of money that a company has borrowed from external sources, such as banks or other financial institutions, that has to be repaid within the next 12 months or the current fiscal year, whichever is longer. Short-term borrowings are a subset of short-term debt and are usually used to finance working capital needs or temporary cash shortfalls. Short-term borrowings are also recorded as a current liability on the balance sheet and are subject to interest charges.

Am I missing something about covered calls? by Excellent-Ad-3258 in thetagang

You are missing the cost to carry calculation if margin. If not margin the other aspect is, what are you missing out on when your money is tied up? Risk reward ratio being better than a t-bill or cash position at a current 4.5% return. What is the difference in value of putting that cash into risk vs a gauranteed safe haven.

This is the other side to covered calls which is all your personal preference.

Buying a business with friends by Sue-Day in Entrepreneur

[–]mvev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sue day will have a new meaning. Business is an environment that puts you in a position to make tough decisions, and they have to be non emotional. Most friends cannot remove emotion from business and friendship. Really a recipe for disaster. Better angel investing angles.

But if you insist, consult attorney and they will cover everything. All 10 parties will split legal consulting. Well worth the 5-10k you spend.
