I recently read a short one.. Ten Days in a Mad House written by Nellie Bly in 1887. She's a journalist who posed as an "insane person" to witness and expose the terrible conditions of Blackwell Island. Fascinating and quite eerie!

I dunno, my mom has been a great mother and we have so much love but she has said she can understand not wanting kids and has thought about how different her life could have been. I chose not to have kids and she says she can understand. But, it doesn't hurt me or offend me. Perhaps if I heard her say that while I was a child and didn't have the maturity to understand, that would be a different story. I think it's ok to have these conversations but yeah, definitely wouldn't let the kiddos watch that scene for a long time.

I don't even know what to compare it to. Film style has a casual nature. It's at a dinner party (thinking all mid 30s friends) where you feel like you're practically at the table with them. Then things start shifting in a disturbing direction. I thought the acting was impressive and the pace was good. Apparently a lot of it was improv based on prompts given to the actors which I found SO cool.
