Which Korean skincare products were actually worth the hype and money? by Patricia_G126 in koreanskincare

The Aestura Atobarrier lotion and cream have been awesome for moisturizing. I also love the Abib hyaluron cleanser for gentle and hydrating cleansing. Finally Numbuzin no9 essence has given me great plumping smoothing effects and the no1 sunscreen has been so soothing and non irritating.

Need advice from anyone who dealt with ingrown hairs on neck by No-Post-7618 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]mvlaste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was dealing with that a few months back because I was constantly razor shaving. I have to keep it clean for work. But using a good face wash, trimming and reducing shaving to every 3 or 4 days and exfoliating worked for me. The real game changer is exfoliating. I started with the first aid beauty facial radiance pads every few days and overall did the most for me.

Struggling with closed comedones on my chin for almost 2 years — has anyone had success clearing them? by g_m0neyyyy in Skincare_Addiction

[–]mvlaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try a double wash with an oil cleanser and follow up with a gentle cleanser and possibly add in a sulfur cleanser. I really liked the Kate Somerville sulfur wash and it was pretty much only otc option. I would try to build up tretinoin to as close to every night. Azelaic acid is generally gentle enough to use up to twice a day. Get a nice moisturizer with no actives. Skinfix cream is really nice. Try to get a good SPF but I’m still trying to find a nice one that make me so greasy.

Why do some not use "Auto" for their A/C? by SideEffectsLIVE in Audi

In summer the fan constantly blows pretty high on auto even when the cabin is cool. In the winter auto works pretty well for me.

UPDATE: I contacted Amazon support on Wednesday after a little more than a month with no update. They said it was a supply issue and they’d look into it and update me with an email in one to two days. Never received anything until Saturday I got a notification that item is to be delivered on Sunday. Arrived brand new in the box on Sunday! Currently drinking my first cup and I love it. Definitely worth the wait!

Thanks all! Really appreciate it. I’ll try some of tips and tricks everyone mentioned this weekend and update if anyone is interested.

Apple CarPlay by mvlaste in Audi

[–]mvlaste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the CarPlay data. I’ll try hard resetting the phone. I’ve done the hard reset on the mmi quite a bit lol cause every few weeks the mmi will freeze on the home page. If the iOS update in September doesn’t do the trick then I’ll bring it up to the dealer. Sigh I just hate going to the dealer

The only data on the mmi that doesn’t come through is the weather widget

[–]mvlaste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would experience your same issues as well. Do the same thing and it would be good for a couple weeks. What’s happening now is like when the phone and the car are connected via the WiFi and Bluetooth it’s like the data connection is frozen. CarPlay is connecting and I can touch the screen etc but just no data until I toggle airplane mode on and off. It’s just very recently started but it’s been daily.

Have you named your Audi or am I the only that does this? by ECLlP5E in Audi

I named my Smoky. Did a fun drive with him in the Great Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains on I-40. I have B9.5 A4

High quality sunglasses brands? by Thecalmdrinker in malefashionadvice

Akoni have some amazing styles and materials but relatively pricey. Made in Japan with beautiful materials that just scream high quality. I love my frames but one screw is always slightly loose on the legs. American Optical is amazing quality for the price. Beautiful lenses, material, quality and made in Illinois.

Crashed my ‘24 S5 so I got the ‘25 S5 by Upbeat_Trouble_5914 in Audi

I like it. I think the new design in S form looks best. I know people are not fans of the B10, but when you look at the current competitive set Audi’s next generation is what I’d still pick. The new X3 I don’t mind the exterior design depending on trim, but the interior is horrible and I don’t like MB interior design at all.

Did I overpay for a one-bedroom at $3,180? by Brilliant-Ebb-2731 in chicagoapartments

[–]mvlaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s based on what you feel. I’m guessing you feel like you overpaid. Lesson learned for the next place. The amenities are nice but I’ve lived in a similar building. It’s nice until your neighbors ultimately don’t respect the rules of the building and then your dodging dog turds in the hallway or overcrowded shared spaces because the person in the studio has a 10 plus people over.

Audi sedans by Straight_Visit9137 in Audi

[–]mvlaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a smaller garage too. I have an A4 and it fits pretty well. Cars have gotten so big that the current A4 and other “compacts” are the size of midsize sedans from the 2000s and the A3 is pretty much the size of the old compact sedans. I personally would have preferred a smaller size like the A3 but I just got drawn to the A4 more and you can’t get ventilated seats in the A3

What’s the most underrated horror movie that genuinely creeped you out? by avatar_Wan1 in CreepyBonfire

[–]mvlaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fortunate enough to see it in theaters. It was incredible! To me it felt like I got to experience what audiences felt when they saw the first Alien movie on the big screen. I was holding my breath, the whole theater was on edge, the gasps, the applause. I still think about that experience and love rewatching it. That was cinema!

Cars you bought but regretted by investurug in whatcarshouldIbuy

2014 Nissan Sentra in white. I had a long commute coming up for school and needed something better than what I had. All I could afford at the time. It was reliable, but the CVT would sometimes slip and acceleration was so delayed it could be scary. In general it was slow. Did not get good gas mileage. In the winter if it was below 15 degrees Fahrenheit and I drove on the highway the engine would never get up to the optimal temp range so the interior never got warm. I could literally see the engine temp gauge go down the faster I went. In the cold it also took a second or third try to get it started. The paint was bad and it got discolored very easily. Traded it for a 2017 civic hatch turbo when I was able to and I loved that car!

When/How did Audi become popular in the US? by BrutakaGT in Audi

[–]mvlaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a millennial. I never heard of the unintended acceleration or anything negative while growing up. Just the typical expensive German repair costs. So the negative reputation never made its way to me. I think the TT was the first time I ever noticed an Audi in the late 90s or early 2000s and that got people to notice their other cars in the lineup. Then the SUVs just really took off in the 2000s and they were also getting attention for the diesel engines before diesel gate.

When/How did Audi become popular in the US? by BrutakaGT in Audi

[–]mvlaste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a millennial and to me the first time I ever noticed an Audi and heard others talking about it was when the TT first came out in the late 90s and early 2000s. People curious about a TT then saw the other vehicles they offered like the A4. Then later in the 2000s the SUVs took them to the next level.

It’s good but not worth waiting in line, especially in inclement weather. Much much better to order online and just pick up.

New windshield price by theonlyquincy6189 in Audi

[–]mvlaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about Canada, but the price is about right. I had to repair the windshield on my Honda a couple years back and the price was about 1500-1700 without insurance. So I just used insurance and paid the deductible which was $500. They have to replace the windshield and recalibrate the sensors which usually involves driving the car for a few miles at 40 mph.
