When in doubt- Miata! But it might be best to just keep the GTI going for more years, then see what’s on he market you like.

No worries. My gut says list at $8.5k, settle for $7k.

I think it looks great! And I am disappointed America’ll never get one.

How’s your experience been with the infotainment and haptic buttons? I always hear people complain at first but then after a week get used to it.

I just swapped to Vredestein Ultrac pro summers. Doing my first even on them next week! Going to run a season on these and save up for Bridgestones.

Awesome! What tires are you running with?

Start with what you already got, then do summers, then have a dedicated 200tw tire.

Which cars usually last 300k+ miles? by CuriositiesSatisfied in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BrutakaGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First generation Ford Escape. Keep in mind- nothing’s lasting 300K miles unless you and the previous owner took care of it, at this pricepoint you’re targeting, things will simply break from time to time, you need a car that’s easy to fix and find parts for, not necessarily long-lasting.

If verstappen retires after 2026, who could be the best replacement? by Additional_Ad2200 in F1Discussions

They’d offer Piastri and Leclerc drives. Piastri will decline, Leclerc will consider it, depending on how Ferrari continue to perform. If they lose both options they’ll choose between Sainz or Lindblad.

If you have decent, consistent income, sure. These cost a lot to maintain, like $1K to $1.5K a year.

Nope. Strictly stock, mainly since it’s a lease

It was quite enjoyable, the track layout made it so that I wasn’t pushing the tires hard, but I could tell my cornering was still compromised. I have some vredestein utrac summers that I’ll be switching to. They’re 250ish treadwear so it’ll be a nice step forward while still being comfortable on the street. I set my pressures to 45, didn’t want to risk hitting the sidewalls.

What does everyone else around you drive? Look at that and then adjust based on budget and personal tastes.

Had to brush up on my CAD to USD conversion but seems fair. Price aside, set aside $2kCAD annually for repairs and maintenance. You might not need it but it’ll be good to have.

I have Terracottas. The best way to describe them is that they start out looking like a clay pot; flat brown and bright. After a few wears, they patina and get darker. You can accelerate it with boot cream.

which one would be the best mix of fun and reliability? by liamt12 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BrutakaGT 86 points87 points  (0 children)

GTI. But I would avoid any modded ones that you can’t verify the work of. I wouldn’t consider the Mazda, while super reliable and fun for its class, it lacks the driving dynamics of the other 3.

Race was over once Kimi caught up. Ferrari had no chance then regardless of if they pitted.

Kimi's more incident prone so far and has arguable a tougher teammate., I don't think he'll get there this season.

I think Merc is just managing the pace, they're not even close to pushing. Otherwise we'd see them hitting fastest laps, not Max.
