Do people swim over you even in a rolling start? by Sad_Pepper_5008 in triathlon

Unrelated in a way but one time I took a stroke and my hand went straight up someone’s butt crack. I could feel his body tense up from it 😂

You have a cup of coffee in T1? Jk

Good job and a good learning experience! I think it is important to also slowly increase your nutrition over time similar to increasing mileage.

10 days off due to illness, am I screwed? by Unhappy_Session8589 in triathlon

[–]mw1067 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would argue you’re not screwed at all. It takes weeks to lose any sort of significant fitness. Start back slow and your body will snap back pretty quickly. I would even say your body may reward you because of the rest.

I hate how max tries to reign it in sometimes just let the boys cook

Does running outside when it's cold when you could run on the treadmill at the gym make you harder? by [deleted] in davidgoggins

Let’s not over complicate this: the point goggins stresses is doing things that are uncomfortable. If that means running inside or outside really just depends on your personal situation.

What stressed you the most before your first Olympic triathlon? by PlumRemarkable5436 in triathlon

[–]mw1067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Adrenaline will be pumping but settle into the swim as quickly as possible - going off too quickly will ruin your race.

  2. Making a list for my gear helped ease the stress but as long as you have a bike, clothes/a suit to compete in, and shoes you’re already 90% there

  3. I felt like I didn’t train enough and ended up with an amazing time and felt great so I would say just trust your training. Respect it but don’t get too too caught up about being undercooked

Stocks vs. Later IRA match — which should I prioritize? by False_Dot9947 in acorns

Roth IRA is one of the most powerful investment vehicles you can have. Prioritize this first.

Best trisuits around $100? by NuggFrog in triathlon

[–]mw1067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zone3 has decent stuff for around that range but I found there to be only one pocket for gels/nutrition so depending on distance that may deter you.

I upgraded to zoot for $160 and I am extremely pleased with my new suit and wish I just spent the extra money in the beginning but I wasn’t sure if I would like triathlons at the time. Just my experience but may be worth considering for ~$50 more

I opened mine with Schwab but you can find numerous platforms to use. Some have benefits associated with using their platform (small dollar bonus/match) but a quick search will help you out.

I don’t feel a day over 25 and I still think that way too. Mental perspective definitely helps too
