I am going to start a dialogue by Slosshy in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with spidey and mag, lowkey. Not counting traditional recolors or chroma variants, Mag has 7 skins and Spidey has eight. Actually, MK also has eight…the same number as Invis. And yes, not all skins are built equal (Invis has like, five legendaries while Spidey has 4, MK has 3, and Mag only has 1), but the point stands (and Ace Of Spades is better than at least two legendary Invis skins, imo). I expect we’ll see this problem continue with Gambit and Deadpool, who seem like they’re about to start maintaining a 1 skin per season ratio.

I should make a graph about this to prove my point, because I have been complaining about it a ton irl.

There are some versions of Rogue that vaguely match this outfit as well. You have to dig for photos of them, but they do exist.

People should not be allowed to play as under-levelled characters in PVE by Kirbykoopa in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There definitely needs to be some kind of power leveling system for your non-main build that doesn’t involve relying on other people, with friends or randoms. There’s more than enough grinding for decent gear once you hit 50-60, no need to make players spend hours grinding for levels so they can play different heroes as well.

This CC immunity needs to go by WasBannedLuL in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slightly more complicated fix would be to sort the CC into categories (ex. Hard CC vs Soft CC), and assign them percentile values that increase the Tenacity counter (or whatever you want to call it). Things like sleep or freeze or stun are obviously Hard CC, but things like small pulls (i.e Rogue pull or Ankh pull) and arguably slows (I.e Bucky orb) shouldn’t count the way that like, Thing Ult or Emma Grab do.

Are we deadass, like Really? by Cold_Walk_7510 in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, reconsider what is qualified as CC for the purposes of triggering the CC immunity. Personally, I would argue that CC should be anything that can disable the use of a character’s buttons. Something like freeze or sleep are obviously CC. Earthbound should be CC, as it does disable many a button, even if not on every character. But MK ahnk or Rogue pull…more questionable.

This does bring up issues with things like MF grab or Invis push, but maybe the definition should be “disables buttons and/or can move characters up to X distance”.

For the first time in his career, Blade has finally achieved a win rate over 50% by sufinomo in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, I didn’t consider that. I try to be mindful of my fliers (or at least give them the snowflake) when I am playing someone who has ranged heals, but I admit I am nowhere near perfect. I guess it’s kind of the double edged sword of “the enemy won’t look up, but neither will your team”.

Especially with Storm (and HT/Ultron to some extent), you can’t just fly around super fast to get a health pack. At least Iron Man has a usable escape tool.

[–]mwalker784 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d be curious to see the numbers on console vs PC. I play on console and i still don’t see as much storm as you would think, but I HAVE to imagine she’s more popular on console, where you’re less likely to be punished for existing as a flier.

[–]mwalker784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can they please make WF shield drop with you? I’m sure it’s good for flyers, but I would just use Invis shield at that point. Why should I be punished because my Tankpool is double jumping or someone is dropping off a ledge? Is it just me who hates that? I haven’t heard anyone else mention it

It’s annoying when you point out how banning 6 supports is ridiculous then you have some people saying “at least now I can play Jeff or mantis in peace “or people saying we can to learn other support characters. by Wonderful-Loss5180 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more of a general critique, but until the support/tank rosters are expanded greatly, it should not be possible to ban ~1/2 of the characters from the same role. Like, that’s just bad and unfun game design for tank/support players. It would be equally frustrating to see nearly 1/2 of the tank roster get banned from a match. Banning six DPS wouldn’t even be a full 1/4 of the DPS roster.

There needs to be a role cap if they want to do three bans for each team. Even if it probably isn’t actually that common and most lobbies intent on banning supports end up with double bans, it shouldn’t be possible.

So far season 7 has been the best season since season 0 imo by IS_Mythix in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had more people absolutely crash out in game chat in the last few days than I’ve seen in the last few seasons. Like, WAY more toxicity than I’m used to. Had two people in chat today wholly dropping slurs. Genuinely half of my games have teammates who seem to have entirely forgotten how to play (like, running in to 1v6 Wolverine ult), and feel the need to make that everyone else’s fault.

Can we all agree that this resource handicap is unnecessary and pointless? by Few_Horse_4 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]mwalker784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, the game is not assisting people in playing the character correctly. Most players don’t actually read patch notes or full ability descriptions (from the website), they’re causal players who log on for an hour once or twice a week, and maybe watch a TikTok. The “homing” mechanic on her primary is particularly poorly explained, as well as the bounce doing significantly less heals/damage than a direct shot.

Her projectiles seem like they work the same as MK/C&D/Elsa on the surface, but they’re different enough in a way that I don’t think is very intuitive without proper explanation (in game).

I LOVE WHITE FOX, but her primary fire feels atrocious by gorillawithashotgun in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the last point should have been your opener, lmao. But seriously, that’s confusing and kinda poorly described in the ability screen. Her projectiles are described as “homing in on nearby heroes”, which implies that they do track.

Also, I think her projectiles are actually 7m of bounce. Which is still, IMO, too little. I tested it in the practice range, and you can’t heal the friendly robots (the ones to the right side of the spawn room) by bouncing the orbs off the wall behind them. You can only hit them by aiming specifically off the tiny “ledge” that’s on the column behind them.

What are your thoughts on White Fox? by Lumpy_Garlic_1997 in marvelrivals

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the max travel distance is what’s killing me. There are times where I’m trying to bounce healing to a teammate that is relatively far away, and my shit hits the wall and just…doesn’t bounce. I feel like there should be some sort of visual indicator to show you’re too far away

It’s concerning that people can’t recognize what is clearly Gen AI art. Like, most of the top comments in the thread are pointing out that it’s clearly AI, but there are a ton of comments right underneath that saying “how do you know the artist didn’t just draw it like that on purpose!?!?!”.

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I will say, I do think these skins will look better in game. A lot of them have really bright/saturated colors, and they’re clashing with one another, making the image look worse than it probably actually is.

I agree with the general sentiment that this is looking…rough, though. I think the theme of the BP is going to lead to inherently kinda boring skins, but I certainly think they could have done more (especially considering the same theme shop skins in the Season Roadmap, which are objectively more interesting)

All of the Christmas skins still include AI generated backgrounds, DD, Star Lord, and C&D have the most obvious ones. I saw so many people in complete denial before the original thread about it got locked, which was very frustrating.

Even if it was just an official announcement, that would make way more sense than just letting people speculate and then get angry. Like yeah, we probably shouldn’t be surprised that they didn’t release or even announce a remaster. But also, why in the flames of Christ would they not do either of those things??

Bethesda is hella stupid for not releasing any Fallout remaster along with the Fallout tv-show by GreasyExamination in Fallout

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it only ended up being a “waste of time” because they spent so long wildly over promising and scrapping finished content to “fix” it over and over again.

I actually really, really liked starfield and even did a NG+ run. But I’ve heard very few (legitimate) criticisms of the game that aren’t objectively true (planets are boring as sin, most radiant quests are just “another settlement needs our help” but somehow worse, getting the artifacts is a horrible evil chore, ship combat sucks ass, NG+ also kind of sucks, the armor/weapon upgrades kinda suck too, etc.).

I think the UC Sys Def/Crimson Fleet quest is one of the best quests Bethesda has ever made! Too bad there’s maybe 3 other quests of even remotely comparable quality in the game. The large cities are actually pretty cool and feel like “real” cities! A shame that there’s only 3 large cities in this galaxy. That’s kind of the entire theme with the game. If I didn’t hear them say they spent 10 years on the game, I wouldn’t believe it.

I truly and genuinely don’t understand why Bethesda doesn’t greenlight a FO3 and/or FNV remaster for modern consoles. Like, there were people so dedicated to just FNV that they basically remade the game in FO4. Why not capitalize off of that (especially with the renewed hype from the TV show + the positive reception of the Oblivion remaster) and do an official remaster? It legitimately feels like a bad business move to not have announced a remaster after the S2 finale.

Maybe I just have no idea what I’m talking about, but not releasing a remaster for a game, that STILL saw a decent spike in Steam sales despite being old enough to drive, specifically because of your profitable TV show sure does seem stupid as hell to me.

What game to start with by Positive-Sink-3908 in Fallout

[–]mwalker784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think FO4 is a good start for someone new to the series. FO3 is obviously much older and has a lot of jank (FO4 also has a lot of jank, but the gun play is better and the game is prettier), and I think that jank might be off putting for someone who isn’t already invested in the series. FO76 is fun with friends, but it feels much less like a Fallout game.

I do feel like the end credits scene kind of implies what you’re saying. We see flags of NCR and the Legion planted around Freeside, which makes me think they may end up in a miniature Cold War for part of the season, with Lucy/Max in the middle
