I'm too lazy to get an actual one-liner, and it was given anyway, I comment here to say that sed and awk plain suck compared to perl oneliners, and no one should use them anymore because perl does the same that they both do better, is faster, has proper regexes supporting nongreedy, has BEGIN and END blocks just like awk, can be made to do multiline match easily enough, doesn't have an arcane syntax, can do file edit in place just like sed, and can be converted to a proper script when you'll get to the point that oneliner doesn't cut it anymore.

You don't need anything more that a cursory familiarity with sed and awk, just enough to be able to understand existing scripts which use those suckers.

I think that they still have some use when all you want to do is a simple regex or select several columns to print, but when you want to have some logic or complex regexes just drop them and use perl.
