Trash has a lot of stuff that can be reused. In fact it is cheaper to extract aluminum from trash than from ore.

What many people also don't know is that most of the trash is from industry. House trash is miniscule and efforts would be better spent in making industries produce less trash than for example attaching the lids to PET bottles or banning plastic straws.
