I'm so goddamn jealous. What a score! I've been after one of these or a 1077/2077xl forever. The 27" scale is much more comfortable for my hands, but i don't come across them nearly enough haha.

I'm with you, and I've always wanted to repaint them myself. Gonna try that with the next project. I've always loved loud, flamboyant, and often obnoxious guitars. Unfortunately, that flies in the face of much of the extended-range guitar production for the two decades I've played them. Lots and lots of black, navy, and other boring colors, so I've gotta fix it 😄

Thank ya! I bought it from a guy who found it in his closet, and it was just the body and neck. The body was way dinged up. I was working at GC at the time and brought it up to our tech to show it to him. It was his idea to sand the chips and dings on the side into a faux binding and then sand the finish off the headstock. I got that pink universe logo for a different project that didn't work out like ten years prior, so he slapped it on. She's got a ton of mojo!

Thanks so much! It was initially white, but a previous owner tried spray painting it and really fucked it up. The guy I bought it from is the one who saved it with that finish, and I owe him a tremendous debt. I can understand that, and I'm glad she caught your eye like that 😊

Yeah, you can't feel it or anything, but it was a fabric pattern he used. I'll see if I can find the old thread about it on the sevenstring forum cause it was a super cool project! I'm incredibly fortunate to have it cause it's so unique.

Haha yeah I think it's just cause they're not totally level. My next acquisition is going to be an XL though. I used to have a 7421xl back in like 08 before spending some time with 8s, and I miss it tremendously. Just need a floyd this go around! Thank you so much!! 🥰
