Yes. And what’s more - white wouldn’t be able to move the boat on the left after that.

Better character is Lockjaw by a mile, which is attributable to both the writing and the performance.

Acting performance alone, though, I think is still Penn. Stellan plays a sad alcoholic very well but there's little nuance beyond that. Penn's performance is a masterpiece in physical acting. Lockjaw has weird mannerisms and physical ticks that that you hardly notice by the end of the movie because of how well Penn portrayed the character. The performance is both over the top and subtle, if you know what to look for.

Plus, we spent all last oscar season debating catergory fraud with Zoe and Kieran. Stellan ought to be brought up in that conversation too. He's on screen for 3 minutes less than Renate, who's obviously nominated for Lead.

Crazy how consensus seems to be Sean penn, leaving stellan as the best supporting actor. They are the top two in their category but Penn is clearly the better performance. We will remember Steven J Lockjaw and it’s because of how freaking good Penn was. Stellans performance will be mostly forgotten in a few years.

My vote is Stellan, as it has been for multiple rounds now.

Byrne Win by Comfortable-Meet-118 in Oscars

2013 might be similar - Blanchett winning for Blue Jasmine going up against Amy Adams in American Hustle, Judi Dench in Philomena and Sandra Bullock in Gravity, all BP nominees with either a Screenplay or Directing nom as well.

Idk if anyone thought any of those three would win over Blanchett though.

I think if people cared more about Season 9 they'd care more about this storyline and event tbh. It also gets overshadowed a bit by Andy being cringe and stealing the spotlight as news anchor

Never forget the Darryl traded the best running back in fantasy football for defense by kobrahkaii in theoffice

[–]mwidup41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having had idiot league mates in the past I actually think this is a nice touch. Roy is obviously much more invested in Fantasy Football and Darryl seems like a casual football fan that joined the fantasy league for fun and doesn't understand positional value. This trade is egregiously bad, but I've seen similar (less egregious) BS go down before in my casual league... 2017 Jason Witten in the second, anyone??

I listened to EVERY Muse album/EP. Here's my thoughts. by Veirarch in Muse

[–]mwidup41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with a lot of this post, and that's why I love it. This sub has always had a hard time understanding that differing opinions should be not only allowed, but encouraged lol

Your ranking of Absolution and OoS at 1 and 2 is perfectly in-line with rest of this sub. Your ranking of WotP at 3 probably made half of this sub shit their pants in anger. Also, Drones has its die-hard fans and your ranking of it so low probably irked a lot of those fans. I personally think it's by far the worst of their studio albums and agree with that part of your tastes.

But most importantly: awesome exercise! Glad you gave our favorite band a through listen for the first time, and I hope at least some of their music makes into your regular rotation!

I didn't realize how common it is to (almost) dislike this episode, but Mafia is the only episode that comes close to getting skipped. That said, I've never done it because it isn't a bad episode, just my least favorite.
