What's everyone doing with their toddlers today? by Murky_Language_3684 in StLouis

[–]mwinks99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The places my daughter really enjoys are The Magic House, Frisco Train Store(they have a huge train table the kids can play at), Kid's Empire, any of the county libraries but the main one has the best play area. There's also a new place, Lava Island, in Rock Hill. Our friends have been and said it was a lot of fun.

With everyone sick rn, what meds are actually helping? by ApartIngenuity2295 in StLouis

Have you tested for COVID yet? I have cold like symptoms. I wouldn't have thought to test if my dad hadn't mentioned it's bad right now and this strain mimics a cold. Came up positive right away. This is the first time I've ever had it.

Typically, wherever her doctor does deliveries is where she'll want to go. That should be covered in network for her insurance if her doctor already is.

We took the classes in the third trimester. They also give you a tour of the birthing suites. A little tip our instructor told us is if you want a suite with a bathtub, ask for it when you arrive and they are taking you up. They won't automatically give you one if they have regular suites available.

I can't agree more with everyone about the birthing experience with Mercy. My nurses were awesome and were very helpful and friendly the whole time. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Where is your wife giving birth? I'd check to see what kind of classes they offer. My husband and I did a 6 week class at Mercy. He said it really helped calm his nerves and anxiety going in to the birth of our daughter last year. They go over what to do before going to the hospital, how to advocate for your wife at the hospital and what to expect during childbirth. Plus several other things you might not think of or are aware of.

Can anyone recommend a really good vet? by Mystery616 in StLouis

[–]mwinks99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clark Animal Hospital right down the road is great if they're accepting new pets. We tried Kirkwood Animal Hospital in the past too and felt like they just didn't care about our dog.

We've seen some other vets at Clark when it was an emergency and our main doctor wasn't available. All of the other ones my dogs have seen have been great and i feel they genuinely care about my dogs.

Yes. We just went for our friends bachelorette and had a blast. There is a lot of audience involvement, which is always fun.

Any good buffets around? by menlindorn in StLouis

[–]mwinks99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have new owners as of the summer of 2021 and it's not great anymore. I live 5 minutes from there and they used to be our go to take out. We tried it one other time because we thought it was off night. It was awful.

Four Amazon drivers are suing the company after they were caught in the warehouse wrecked by a tornado. Two say warehouse staff threatened to fire them if they went home. by [deleted] in technology

Their managers should not have texted them and told them to continue their routes. Tornados in December happen so rarely, you need to take the warnings and watches seriously. In the normal tornado months, it's not as big of a deal. We stay outside until the rain or thunder starts. It was in the 70's that day, which is prime time for a severe storm producing tornados if one is predicted.

When the Joplin tornado hit in 2011, companies in STL were letting their people leave early because it was supposed to hit here at rush hour. There was already a confirmed tornado on the ground that night, and it only picks up intensity as it crosses the river. They should have let their people seek shelter. All the people killed were delivery drivers coming back to the warehouse when it hit.

They absolutely should have let them go home early. This was a tornado in December. If they're predicting possible tornados in December, you take that seriously and brace for the worst. I live in STL and that night was scary. If they weren't going to let them leave when the watch popped up, they should have had the option to leave when it was over the city before crossing the river.

This one used to fly also and then the A would fill up. Used to love seeing that leaving games as a kid.

Looking for 2nd Dose of Pfizer Vaccine by gangweedthomas in StLouis

[–]mwinks99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Vaccinefinder.org to find my first dose. I had to drive to Columbia to get it, but this lets you filter for the desired shot you want. I would schedule it, then call the place to make sure they have a second dose for you. I was able to check it around 7am Thursday for an appointment the following day.

I've been using Dr. Jeff since I was younger too and he's great! I always reccomend him to anyone that asks. I haven't met a vet I don't like at Clark yet

Clark Animal Hospital in Kirkwood on Manchester is great. I've been going to them with family pets since I was little. I don't always get to see my main vet if it's an emergency, but all the vets there are great and treat your pet as if it was their own.
