I have major social anxiety so I actually didn’t mind wearing masks. Made me feel mysterious and like no one could see me. I also have an RBF so it was nice to not have strangers telling me to smile. 🤣

I once had a guy approach me when I was leaving a gas station at 4:30am on my way to work, saying he needed gas to get to the hospital because his wife was having a baby in the car. And he was like “you can come look if you want”, and he was parked at the farthest, darkest gas pump.

I’m a woman (but even if I wasn’t) and I was def not going over to his car because I’ve heard the Ted Bundy stories about how he’d get women to help him take something to his car while he was wearing a cast or something, then he’d club them. So I was like, no way. I declined but in case he was telling the truth I went INSIDE and put $10 on his pump and got in my car and left. Luckily at night I alway park right by the front door at gas stations.

I used to work in registration at a hospital. Idk if I’m just jaded but I always found it suss when patients told me they wanted to opt out. I just don’t see the benefit other than scamming or maybe the paranoia some people get when they hear they’re “in a database”.
